The use of a topical corticosteroid alone may have a role in the treatment of presumed sterile midperipheral corneal infiltrates associated with SCLs when strict guidelines are followed. Such therapy suggests that the infiltrates are not the result of infection.

SUMMARYA 46-year-old Caucasian man with no other known risk factors developed hilateral posterior subcapsular catar acts soon after intense exposure to ultraviolet radiation.This case report supports experimental and epidemio logical evidence implicating ultraviolet radiation as a risk factor for cataract formation.Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is thought to be one of the risk factors for the development of cataracts.
