Background. Social and emotional deficits were recently considered as inherent features of individuals with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), but only sporadic literature data exist on emotion recognition in adolescents with ADHD. The aim of the present study was to establish emotion recognition profile in adolescent boys with ADHD in comparison with control adolescents. Methods. Forty-four adolescent boys (13–16 years) participated in the study after informed consent; 22 boys had a clinical diagnosis of ADHD, while data were also assessed from 22 adolescent control boys matched for age and Raven IQ. Parent- and self-reported behavioral characteristics were assessed by the means of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. The recognition of six basic emotions was evaluated by the “Facial Expressions of Emotion-Stimuli and Tests.” Results. Compared to controls, adolescents with ADHD were more sensitive in the recognition of disgust and, worse in the recognition of fear and showed a tendency for impaired recognition of sadness. Hyperactivity measures showed an inverse correlation with fear recognition. Conclusion. Our data suggest that adolescent boys with ADHD have alterations in the recognition of specific emotions.
A családi tapasztalatok kortárskapcsolatokra kiterjedő hatásának kutatásában tradicionálisnak tekinthető alternatíva a kötődéselmélet. A csecsemőkori biztonságos kötődés feltételezhető előnyeit a későbbi társas kapcsolatokra vonatkozóan sok empirikus kutatás választotta tárgyául. A kötődési biztonság mérésére a Szeparációs szorongás teszt Seattle verzióját használtuk (Slough, Greenberg, 1988). A gyerekek társas helyzetének azonosítását pedig szociometrikus eljárással végeztük. Eredményeink mintától függetlenül demonstrálják a kötődési biztonság szerepét a társas kapcsolatok alakulásában. Az elutasítás kivételével minden a társas helyzet mérésére használt változó esetében kimutatható a kötődési biztonság mértéke és a társas helyzet alakulása közötti összefüggés.
In recent years, more and more researchers have focused on studies of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), however, studying their siblings has gained less scientific interest. The present study focuses on siblings of children with ASD and assesses their characteristics in terms of emotional intelligence and empathy. Our sample consisted of n = 61 children in two age groups studied: 6-8 and 10-15 years old. Our experimental group consisted of n = 30 siblings of children with ASD, while our control group also consisted of n = 31 children with sibling relationships. Subjects completed two paper-and-pencil tests: the Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (Children’s Version), and depending on the age group, the Emotional Intelligence Test (EIT 6-8 / EIT 10-15). We identified higher emotional intelligence and empathy in higher age groups. Among 6-8 years old siblings of children with ASD, higher scores were found to be. At the level of gender differences, girls performed more outstandingly in the tests examined. In our study, the 6-8 years old siblings of children with ASD can be characterized by a higher degree of emotional intelligence and empathy, however, we cannot draw conclusions in a representative way for the entire population.
Vizsgálatunkban a megosztási viselkedés és a társas viszonyok kapcsolatát vizsgáltuk 5 éves gyermekek esetében. Arra a kérdésre kerestük a választ, hogy vajon különböző spontán, érzelmi alapon szerveződő diádikus kapcsolatokban tetten érhető-e a sajátos, az adott kapcsolat érzelmi beállítódásának megfelelő elosztásra és a másik elosztására vonatkozó becslési mintázat? Olyan viselkedési helyzetet alakítottunk ki, mely lehetővé teszi a gyerekek megosztási viselkedésének „mérését” a különböző érzelmi színezetű diádikus viszonyokban. Elosztási (adási) problémát provokáltunk egyedi helyzetben, és lehetőséget adtunk a kísérletben részt vevő gyereknek arra, hogy saját elosztási (odaadási) elveinek megfelelően fejezze ki a vonzalmát, illetve elutasítását a (szociometria alapján) kijelölt gyerekkel kapcsolatban. A gyerektől a társa ugyanilyen helyzetben történő elosztási viselkedésének elővételezését kértük.
