O discurso de Noverre está diretamente associado a um projeto de revalorização da arte da dança, nesse sentido, o objeto livro não é apenas um suporte para o novo discurso estético como também uma ferramenta com múltiplas utilidades que procura, ao mesmo tempo, modificar o olhar do público no palco, legitimar o sucesso do novo gênero teatral e valorizar a profissão do mestre de balé.Palavras-chave: Balé Pantomima; Iluminismo; História do Livro; História da dança; Jean Georges Noverre. El discurso de Noverre está directamente asociado a un proyecto de revalorización del arte de la danza. En este sentido, el objeto libro no constituye únicamente un soporte del nuevo discurso estético sino una herramienta con múltiples utilidades. The Uses of Print and Writing in Eighteenth Century European Ballet: the Case of The Letters on Dancing and Ballets by Jean-Georges NoverreAbstract: This article aims to study the uses of print, especially the Letters on Dancing and Ballets by Jean-Georges Noverre, throughout the emergence of pantomime ballet in the late eighteenth century. Noverre’s discourse is directly associated with a project to revitalize the art of dance. In this sense, books as an object are not only a support for the new aesthetic discourse, but a tool with multiple uses.
