An analysis of the Medium Voltage (MV) electricity power distribution network operated by Cameroon's AES-SONEL company shows that losses are very high due to energy which is produced but not distributed and that the duration of power interruptions as a result of these faults is long due to the time used in searching for the faults. Given that quick detection of faults is a sure means of improving availability and productivity in any company, we hereby propose a system of real-time diagnosis of the faults on AES-SONEL's electric power distribution network. After an inventory of typical faults on electric power networks and the proposal of a tool for their identification, we propose a system for the detection and localization of these various failures. The implementation of the system on a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) enables the performance of the system to be assessed.
Sub Saharan Africa has a great renewable energy potential. Rural areas are suffering from poor energy access. Some systems designed to address this issue are still faced with some difficulties. Appropriate approaches and energy plant development will help remote areas to address the issue of electricity access. The current development of some micro hydro and micro solar energy plants is of poor quality and maintenance, sometimes resulting in failures. There are also some common mistakes made when promoting (designing) an energy system in an African environment. Identifying issues from local constraints and lessons learned will contribute to determining the appropriate sizing, technology and tools to correctly develop micro hydro and micro solar energy plants.
The information flow in a company is a whole set of static or dynamic data obtained from communication used for the conception and realization of products; facing competition, every company aims at improving its performance to meet customer needs. The focus on information flow to improve the performances of companies has always been a major preoccupation in the research domain, which always contributes to the evolution of the analysis of information flow for companies to be more efficient. This article presents the state of the art on the analysis of information flow model based on information characteristics in shop floor manufacturing companies (known as advanced in technology) to ameliorate their performance and future research directions for small-and medium-sized manufacturing companies for developing countries to be more competitive and efficient.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
