A agricultura brasileira enfrentou profundas transformações em relação ao emprego agrícola durante a década de 90. Visando investigar qual foi o impacto desse processo nos determinantes da ocupação das famílias constituídas por núcleo composto, analisa-se a probabilidade de ocupação no mercado de trabalho de maridos e esposas da área rural do Brasil. Os dados utilizados nesse estudo foram obtidos da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD) para o ano de 2008 com todas as características do seu plano amostral complexo (peso, estrato e unidade primária) e a análise é feita para a área rural do Brasil. Adicionalmente, faz-se uso do modelo Probit Bivariado Aparentemente Não relacionado (BIPROBIT) para determinar se há interação das características que determinam a ocupação de maridos e esposas no mercado de trabalho rural brasileiro. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que há interação das características que determinam a ocupação do núcleo familiar composto rural, mas que as características relevantes para essa ocupação variam consideravelmente conforme se considere marido ou esposa.
ResumoTexto que apresenta uma reflexão crítica acerca da contribuição do Programa “Luz para Todos” no desenvolvimento sustentável das localidades isoladas da Amazônia, em especial, no estado de Rondônia. Inicialmente são apresentados um breve histórico e os indicadores globais da execução do programa no país. Em seguida, a discussão avança a partir de dados do Estado de Rondônia, avaliando o modelo de geração e distribuição de energia elétrica, bem como analisando a contribuição do programa social para o desenvolvimento sustentável na Região Amazônica. Por fim, as fontes de energia renováveis são sugeridas como alternativa para ampliar o alcance do “Luz para Todos” na Amazônia.Palavras-chave: Luz para Todos, microgrids, sustentabilidade. AbstractThis text shows a reflection about the contribution of the "Light for All" Program to promote sustainable development in the Amazon, especially in the state of Rondônia. Initially, a brief history and overall indicators of program execution in the country are presented. Next, the discussion is based on data from the State of Rondônia, evaluating the model of generation and distribution of electricity, as well as analyzing the contribution of the social program to sustainable development in the Amazon Region. RESUMO:O presente trabalho objetiva estudar a produção agrícola das culturas da cana-deaçúcar, da mandioca e do algodão arbóreo, destacando as usinas do rio abaixo, que marcaram uma época de muita movimentação fluvial que fizeram parte da história no período de colonização e fatores que caracterizaram a produção agrícola e os produtos artesanais do município de Várzea Grande. O método com o qual essa pesquisa se realizou decorre de um estudo exploratório de base empírica e bibliográfica, envolvendo os distritos várzeagrandenses que trabalham no sistema de produção artesanal e agrícola. Dentre tais produtos, está a mandioca e o fabrico da farinha, a cana-de-açúcar e seus derivados e a rede de dormir. Seu fabrico ainda ocorre nos dias atuais, pelo empenho e dedicação dos artesãos que desenvolvem essa prática.
