El objetivo fue estimar el posible impacto del cambio climático en la distribución potencial de T. diversifolia en México. Nichos de distribución fueron modelados con MaxEnt para la climatología de referencia 1951-2000, y dos escenarios de cambio climático 2041-2060 y 2061-2080, considerando 20 variables bioclimáticas y dos topográficas. Para las climatologías futuras se consideró el modelo de circulación global (MCG) HadGEM2-ES, con dos vías representativas de concentración de gases efecto invernadero (rcp4.5 y rcp8.5). Esta información se obtuvo de la página web Global Climate Data de WorldClim y se trabajó con el sistema Idrisi Selva como imágenes raster con una resolución de 2.5 min de arco. Las variables que más contribuyeron a explicar la distribución geográfica de T. diversifolia fueron la precipitación acumulada mayo-octubre (pa5-10) y la temperatura máxima media del mes más cálido (txmc). El umbral del percentil 10th de la presencia logística predice una superficie (para la climatología de referencia 1951-2000), que representa el 30.71 % de la extensión de México. La modelación de nichos en los diversos escenarios climáticos registra zonas de expansión, así como zonas de retracción para la distribución potencial de la especie, pero después de hacer un balance, se obtiene que las áreas potenciales para T. diversifolia se incrementarán ligeramente con respecto a la climatología de referencia 1950-2000, con valores estimados de 31.62 %, 31.83 %, 32.45 % y 32.45 % del territorio mexicano en los escenarios 2041-2060 rcp8.5, 2041-2060 rcp4.5, 2061-2080 y 2061-2080 rcp4.5 y rcp8.5, respectivamente. Se concluye que el cambio climático traería más beneficios que restricciones para la dispersión de T. diversifolia.
El objetivo del estudio fue estimar el impacto del cambio climático en la distribución potencial de Morus alba L. en México. Se modelaron nichos de distribución con Máxima Entropía (Maxent), para las climatologías ~1950-2000 (climatología de referencia), 2041-2060 y 2061-2080, con dos vías representativas de concentraciones de gases efecto invernadero (Rcp4.5 y Rcp8.5), Se utilizaron 21 variables bioclimáticas y dos variables topográficas; esta información se obtuvo del portal de Global Climate Data de WorldClim y se manejó con imágenes raster y ascii a 2.5 minutos de arco. Se consideró el modelo de circulación general (MCG): HadGEM2-ES. Los resultados mostraron que las variables ambientales que más contribuyen a explicar la distribución geográfica de M. alba son la precipitación del mes más húmedo (septiembre) y la temperatura media del mes más frío (enero). El umbral logístico del percentil 20 conjetura para la climatología de referencia un 80.8% de área con aptitud ambiental de M. alba en la extensión total de México. La predicción de los escenarios de cambio climático reportan áreas de retracción ambiental para tres escenarios estudiados; dando un total de 80.66, 79.14 y 80.67 en los escenarios 2041-2060 rcp4.5 y rcp8.5 y escenario 2061-2080 rcp8.5 respectivamente; para el escenario 2061-2080 rcp4.5 se registra una expansión a 82.28 en la superficie nacional. Por lo anterior el cambio climático augura una retracción en las superficies con aptitud ambiental de M. alba, para el periodo 2041-2060 y para el periodo 2061-2080 solo con el Rcp8.5.
El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar el piso de rejilla para controlar parásitos gastrointestinales y determinar su efecto en algunas variables de producción. Se utilizaron 32 corderos divididos en dos grupos. El primero alojado en jaulas elevadas con piso de rejilla de plástico (PRP), el segundo en corrales con piso de concreto (PC). Semanalmente, se tomaron muestras de heces, se registró el consumo de alimento y la ganancia diaria de peso (GDP). A las heces se les realizó un análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo. No existió diferencia en el número de ooquistes/huevecillos de protozoarios (4,979 vs. 5,206), céstodos (125 vs. 56) ni de nemátodos (590 vs. 490) entre los grupos PRP y PC, respectivamente. Tampoco hubo diferencia en la GDP (240g PRP vs. 230 g PC) y en la conversión alimenticia (4.74 PRP vs. 4.75 PC).
Existen factores que afectan la respuesta superovulatoria que inciden en transferencia de embriones bovinos. El objetivo fue evaluar la respuesta superovulatoria en número y calidad embriones en vacas Simmental con y sin cría. Se utilizaron cinco vacas donadoras: tres con cría (VCC) y dos sin cría (VSC). Se utilizó Hormona Folículo Estimulante para superovulación, administrada cuatro días cada 12 horas, reduciendo la dosis cada 24 horas. Seis días después de la primera inseminación se realizó el lavado. Se evaluó la canidad y calidad de embriones (excelente, bueno, regular y malo) mediante un análisis descriptivo de medias, frecuencias relativas y absolutas. Se recuperaron 20 embriones, siete de VCC (2.3 promedio) y 13 de VSC (6.5 promedio). La cantidad de embriones viables de VCC fue mayor respecto a las de VSC. En conclusión, el estado reproductivo de las vacas puede influir en la cantidad y calidad de embriones recuperados por superovulación
El objetivo fue colocar cánulas ruminales por fijación de planos quirúrgicos. Se utilizaron 12 ovinos Black Belly de 35 kg y cinco meses de edad, divididos en tres grupos con cuatro animales cada uno. Se colocaron cánulas flexibles de caucho, la técnica fue diferente a las descritas en la literatura, tanto por el material como por las cirugías, ya que se hizo fijación por planos quirúrgicos. La cicatrización no presentó complicaciones en 11 de los12 borregos (91.66 %). Los 12 animales pudieron ser utilizados en estudios nutricionales de digestibilidad in situ, cinética de sólidos y fermentación ruminal. Esta técnica alternativa incrementa la sobrevivencia del animal, el cual puede ser utilizado por periodos prolongados para estudios en nutrición en pequeños rumiantes.
