En el presente artículo se aborda la cuestión de cómo un centro de recursos puede fomentar un comportamiento autónomo y promover el uso consciente de estrategias entre los aprendientes de segundas lenguas. Partiendo del Centro APLA, Centro de Aprendizaje Lingüístico Autónomo de la Facultad de Filología de la US, creado a finales de 2018, se describen las diferentes actividades que se han llevado a cabo desde su fundación, y las razones para fomentar la autonomía. Se hace hincapié en las estrategias metacognitivas, cognitivas y socioafectivas como forma más adecuada para este propósito. Finalmente se plantea una desiderata y varias líneas de trabajo futuras de APLA.

El ensayo, Linguistik der Lüge, de Harald Weinrich, publicado por primera vez en 1966, obtuvo en 1965 el primer premio en el concurso de la Sociedad Alemana de las Ciencias. Los once capítulos de los que consta se adentran, desde una perspectiva lingüística, en la cuestión de cómo, en qué circunstancias y con qué medios miente el ser humano, proponen una reflexión sobre la relación entre la lengua y la mentira, y tratan de conceptos lingüísticos como la palabra, el texto o el concepto, la metáfora, la ironía y la conexión entre el pensamiento y la palabra, y su vinculación con la mentira. Todo ello se realiza partiendo de las ideas de San Agustín acerca de la mentira, De mendatio, (la mentira es un enunciado con la intención y voluntad de decir algo falso). Weinrich, sólo aparentemente, califica esta definición, dentro de la tradición agustiniana, como campo excluyente para los lingüistas, pues no ve claro qué medios tiene a disposición la lingüistica para enjuiciar la existencia de voluntad para mentir, algo que más bien pertenece a un plano moral. Sin embargo, Weinrich insiste en el aspecto lingüístico de la mentira, pone en evidencia tal grado de indefinición de la lengua, que, como consecuencia, desvela una inherente capacidad que la lengua posee para mentir en determinadas circunstancias. La palabra "Feuer" (fuego) puede ser extensa o limitada, vaga o precisa, social o privada, y abstracta o concreta. Cada uno de los extremos mencionados está determinado mediante dos polos: el del significado (extenso, vago, social y abstracto), cuando no se menciona ningún fuego en concreto, y el de la referencia (limitada, precisa, privada y concreta), cuando se menciona un tipo de fuego en concreto. La determinación textual es vital: "en el texto sólo hay referencias; y éstas se pueden usar de manera adecuada, sólo es necesario aplicar un contexto correspondiente. Por este motivo los textos son en principio traducibles. ¿Las traducciones son por tanto mentiras? Debemos orientamos según esta regla: las palabras traducidas mienten siempre, los textos traducidos mienten sólo si están mal traducidos". Weinrich pone en relación estos conceptos que desembocan en una de las disciplinas lingüísticas más importantes del siglo pasado, sienta, sin duda, las bases de la lingüística textual en la que es el texto quien dota a las palabras de una referencia, y no al contrario. Además el texto es el causante de una eventual distancia entre el significado y la referencia de la palabra. Este resquicio, esta distancia entre referencia y significado, es visto por Weinrich como una ligera pero clara mentira lingüística, una semántica de la mentira, en definitiva, una primera parte para una lingüística de la mentira.
