La comunicación hospitalaria es un proceso de gran importancia en la relación profesional-familiar en los entornos del cuidado moderno. El objetivo de esta revisión es explorar el estado actual de la comunicación entre los profesionales de la salud y los familiares de los pacientes hospitalizados en apoyo a la atención médica. La revisión utilizó 6 bases de datos internacionales. El análisis e interpretación se basó en la metodología de Evans y Dixon-Woods. Los resultados de 28 artículos seleccionados se agruparon en cuatro categorías. El 67.85% de los estudios abordan la comunicación de forma diversa y un 32.15% con propuestas de mejora. Expandir la comunicación hospitalaria mediante las TI posibilita una relación y ambiente próspero para la comunicación entre los involucrados.
Las instituciones suelen emplear sistemas de información a fin de recabar, procesar, almacenar y obtener información de calidad para la toma de decisiones. Contar con información de calidad es un tema clave para las instituciones. La presente investigación pretende percibir problemas concretos de calidad de información en sistemas de información con el fin de proporcionar una mayor calidad de la información en la prestación de servicios de salud pública. Se diseñó un cuestionario con base en un conjunto de dimensiones de calidad de la información. Posteriormente, se aplicó a 160 usuarios finales de sistemas de información de 10 unidades médicas del estado de Tamaulipas, México. Se han obtenido oportunidades específicas de calidad de información para sistemas de información. Se evidencia la oportunidad de mejora en el tema de calidad de la información en relación con la muestra de sistemas de información considerados en esta investigación. Se sugiere que los resultados obtenidos se consideren en el ámbito académico y profesional a razón de contribuir a elevar la calidad de la información proporcionada por los sistemas de información.
La evolución de las Tecnologías de la Información incorpora cambios en la comunicación de la e-Salud propiciando iniciativas de investigación. Se propone la construcción y validación de un primer cuestionario para estudiar el contexto de las interacciones mediante el uso de las tecnologías de la información de los familiares de pacientes hospitalizados. La construcción se apoyó en las fases propuestas por Hernández Sampieri, la validación en base al coeficiente alfa de Cronbach y el constructo mediante análisis factorial. Se obtuvo un instrumento con 20 ítems distribuidos en tres dimensiones y datos demográficos. Presenta una excelente confiabilidad y fiabilidad, por lo que resulta adecuado para medir objetivamente las interacciones de los familiares de pacientes hospitalizados en ausencia de un instrumento similar.
