Una de las aplicaciones de las tecnologías de la información se encuentra en el control automático, generando un nuevo paradigma denominado control inteligente, el cual emula las características de sistemas biológicos, permitiendo crear controladores con nuevas capacidades que suelen convertirse en productos que se constituyen como importantes ventajas competitivas para las compañías de tecnología. Con esto en mente en este artículo se propone calcular los parámetros de un controlador del tipo Proporcional-Integral-Derivativo, mediante algoritmos evolutivos, específicamente el Algoritmo inmunológico clonal y el Enjambre de partículas, constituyéndose como alternativa al ajuste de Nichols, convirtiendo un problema de diseño de controladores en uno de optimización. Una alternativa de solución a problemas de optimización numérica se encuentra en los métodos heurísticos, uno de ellos es el algoritmo genético simple, el cual ha sido objeto de estudio de varios trabajos que tienen como finalidad mejorar su repetibilidad (estabilidad con respecto al número de ejecuciones) y su convergencia. Un ejemplo de los trabajos anteriores es el uso de un algoritmo computacional desarrollado en 2011 por Camilo y Yamanaka basado en la técnica de reproducción asistida denominada Fertilización In Vitro, usando una codificación basada en números binarios. En ese trabajo se compararon la repetibilidad y la convergencia de un algoritmo genético simple y uno con Fertilización In Vitro ambos con codificación real, utilizando como caso de estudio la minimización del error cuadrático medio de un controlador PID aplicado a la regulación de temperatura de una celda termoeléctrica. Cabe destacar que los códigos escritos para este trabajo fueron desarrollados en Scilab un software de simulación matemática de licencia libre.
