Objective: To analyze some characteristics of infant mortality of residents in the area of the 15th Health Region of Paraná, from 2005 to 2008. Methods: A descriptive exploratory study covering 397 deaths investigated by the Committee for the Prevention of Infant Mortality, using data from the research data sheets. Results: In 82.3% of families, monthly income was up to three times the minimum wage; 65.1% of the mothers received prenatal care through the public network; 83.4% of births were financed by the National Health System; and, 59 2% of women began prenatal care in the first trimester. Of the mothers, 68.5% had complications during pregnancy: 18.2% had preterm labor; 18.2% had a urinary tract infection, and 16.5% had arterial hypertension. Conclusion: Low income, the use of public services for prenatal care and childbirth shows that public institutions, public health workers and nurses are improving the care of pregnant women with attributes of gestational risk, and contribute to the continued reduction of infant mortality. RESUMENObjetivo: Analizar algunas características de la mortalidad infantil de residentes en el área de la 15º Región de Salud de Paraná, del 2005 al 2008. Métodos: Estudio descriptivo exploratorio que abarcan 397 óbitos investigados por el Comité de Prevención de la Mortalidad Infantil, utilizando los datos de las fichas de investigación. Resultados: Para el 82,3% de las familias, el ingreso mensual fue de hasta tres salarios mínimos; el 65,1% de las madres realizaron el prenatal en una red pública; el 83,4% de los partos fueron financiados por el Sistema Único de Salud y el 59,2% de las mujeres iniciaron el prenatal en el primer trimestre. De las madres, el 68,5% tuvieron complicaciones durante la gestación, el 18,2% tuvieron trabajo de parto prematuro; el 18,2% infección urinaria y el 16,5% hipertensión arterial. Conclusión: El bajo ingreso, la utilización del servicio público para el prenatal y parto evidencian que las instituciones públicas, los equipos de salud y el enfermero deben perfeccionar la atención a la gestante, con atribución del riesgo gestacional, a fin de contribuir con la continuidad de la reducción de la mortalidad infantil. This study characterizes the profile of hospital morbidity according to the main diagnosis upon admission, in individuals younger than five years old, residents of three cities 16.1% in hospital admissions of patients younger than five years old in relation to the total number of admissions in all age groups. As for the main diagnoses, there were diseases of the respiratory system (55.6%), infectious and parasitic diseases (14.8%) and diseases originating in the perinatal period (12.9%). Such conditions can be avoided by implementing primary health care measures, which shows the need to intensify the actions recommended by the programs directed to child health.
Objetivos: conhecer as experiências de cuidado de profissionais de enfermagem e identificar suas relações com o Processo Clinical Caritas (PCC), da Teoria do Cuidado Humano de Jean Watson. Método: estudo exploratório-descritivo de natureza qualitativa, realizado com 26 participantes, indicados por suas chefias de setor, como referência de cuidado de um hospital de ensino da região noroeste do Paraná. Os dados foram coletados em 2016, por meio de entrevistas abertas, gravadas em áudio, transcritas na íntegra e submetidas à análise de conteúdo modalidade temática, após aprovação do Comitê Permanente de Ética em Pesquisa com Seres Humanos. Resultados: as categorias foram formadas pelos relatos do cotidiano de cuidado que guardavam relações com os elementos do PCC da Teoria do Cuidado Humano. Conclusão: o estudo permitiu conhecer as experiências de cuidado dos profissionais de enfermagem e identificar nelas elementos do Processo Clinical Caritas.
<p><strong>Objetivo:</strong> apreender a perspectiva do cuidador familiar sobre o cuidado e a recuperação do idoso com fratura decorrente de queda. <strong>Método:</strong> estudo descritivo e exploratório realizado com 15 cuidadores familiares de idosos no município de Borrazópolis, Paraná, Brasil, nos meses de junho e julho de 2018, mediante entrevistas semiestruturadas submetidas à análise de conteúdo, modalidade temática.<strong> Resultados:</strong> emergiram quatro categorias temáticas: equipe de enfermagem apoiando familiares cuidadores de idosos com fratura; imobilização de membro ou restrição ao leito como condição geradora de dependência; peculiaridades do cuidado ao idoso com fratura; e religiosidade/ espiritualidade fortalecendo o cuidado cotidiano. <strong>Conclusão:</strong> na perspectiva do cuidador familiar, o cuidado e a recuperação do idoso com fratura decorrente de queda envolve dedicação, alterações no cotidiano pessoal e familiar e sobrecarga para o cuidador, além de dificuldades decorrentes do despreparo e da não aceitação da condição de dependência por parte do idoso.</p><p><strong> Descritores:</strong> Cuidadores. Objetivo: verificar a prevalência de sintomas depressivos e associação com qualidade de vida em idosos institucionalizados. Métodos: estudo descritivo realizado com idosos de duas instituições de longa permanência do Paraná. Os dados foram coletados entre junho e setembro de 2018, mediante entrevista estruturada, utilizando o The World Health OrganizationQualityof Life (WHOQOL – bref) e a Escala de Depressão Geriátrica. Os dados foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva e inferencial no software R. Resultados: a maioria dos idosos (62%) tinha algum grau de sintomas depressivos - leve ou severo. A qualidade de vida apresentou correlação com características sociodemográficas, condição de saúde, estilo de vida e presença de sintomas depressivos. Conclusão: a prevalência de sintomas depressivo na amostra estudada foi alta, o que indica a necessidade de maior atenção para a saúde mental de idosos residentes em instituições de longa permanência.
