O presente trabalho tem por objetivo uma dupla tarefa – a construção/significação da noção de alteridade e, a partir disso, contextualizá-la na contemporaneidade para o entendimento de sua importância, especificamente, na área educacional. Pois, a constituição do mundo moderno, ou como preferem alguns teóricos, pós-moderno, no qual a globalização apresenta para a sociedade uma convivência nem sempre pacífica entre os grupos, faz da alteridade palavra-chave. Assim sendo, a escola torna-se uma das instituições mediadora desses conflitos, aprofundando a ideia da diferença dentro e fora de seus muros, contudo, em seu cotidiano há obstáculos e desafios a serem vencidos, os quais entram em discussão pela sociedade acadêmica e civil.
<span style="font-family: "><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "><p class="MsoBodyTextIndent" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 6pt 14.15pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: ";Georgia";,";serif";;">O presente artigo pretende aproximar o campo iconográfico ao ensino de História, isto é, explicitando possíveis caminhos para a utilização da fotografia em sala de aula, como ferramenta metodológica, demonstrando assim, a viabilidade do conjunto fotográfico no auxílio à prática docente na área, via a relação ensino-aprendizagem. Ao longo de sua trajetória, a fotografia foi marcada por seus usos e funções, por sua grande capacidade de representação, abordá-la como indício do real denota uma análise mais apurada e dinâmica na pesquisa histórica. Inseri-la na prática pedagógica significa explorar sua capacidade representativa para o entendimento de uma das linhas norteadoras dos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCN’s): a diversidade. De modo particular, nesta pesquisa, analisar-se-á o tema imigração para a conjugação entre ensino e fotografia, visualizando as realidades sociais por um viés plural e particular.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p></span></span></span></span></span></span></span>
