synopsisThe properties of fluorocarbon plastics have made them very desirable for numerous new applications. The DALVOR X-6500 series of fluoropolymers can be easily fabricated without the use of solvents. General compound information, including pigmentation, lubrication, and rheology data, is presented as well as chemical resistance, weathering, and electrical data. Processing parameters for producing both flat and blown fdms are given, along with recommended types of equipment. Data are presented on fluid bed coating and various other applications are discussed.
The properties of fluorocarbon plastics have made them desirable for numerous new applications. Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVF2) can be easily extruded into films or fibers or injection molded into a variety of shapes. It was found that crystallinity, molecular weight distribution and polymer structure are important in establishing resin properties. Highly crystalline PVF2 with a narrow Gaussian molecular weight distribution gives specimens with optimum physical and chemical properties.
In an effort to improve hearing aid switch reliability, switches operable by a magnetic field are used. These may be reed switches, operable by suitable movement of a permanent magnet actuator, or they may be magnetic field-responsive semiconductors, similarly operated. The criteria desirable for the porous portion are stated to bca specific airflow resistance between 3000 and 105 000 SI rayIs, a mcan pore size of at least 160/am, and a tortuous path in the porous material.
