This article investigates the individual competences of project managers through a methodological approach that combines a systematic literature review and an analysis of employment opportunities. A comparative analysis of project manager’s competences from the literature and the job advertisements was done. The systematic literature review was the first stage of the research and consisted of adopting methods of bibliometrics and content analysis. The second stage included an analysis of project managers’ competences in the selection process. Thus, five Brazilian recruitment websites and the selection of employees were investigated. Through literature review, it was possible to classify and code competences in four categories (contextual, managerial, technical, and behavioral). The analysis of job advertisements allowed us to identify core competence requirements in the job descriptions and to develop a project manager profile expected by Brazilian organizations.
Projects have direct and indirect costs; the direct ones are easily identified and quantified, the indirect ones are difficult to control, because they are generated in favor of more than one project, and even if they are not directly related to the activities, they influence their budget. This study aims to present indirect cost identification methods, analyze the estimation models adopted for its measurement, and also analyze ways of appropriating costs in several projects. The method adopted was the analysis of multiple cases in companies of the industrial, commercial and services sectors. It was verified that projects with greater detail of the scope show less difficulty in identifying indirect costs, directly influencing the method of estimation adopted. The estimate for indirect costs is specific to each company, and its complexity is defined by the volume of data available. The appropriation of indirect costs differs between cases, but has similar objectives in its incorporation in the direct hours of the projects. It is worth highlighting the importance of project planning in the identification of indirect costs, in the choice of measurement methods, and also in the forms of costing for the budget.
This article analyzes the relationship between risk and uncertainty in Project Management. The objective of this paper is to explore the concept of risks and uncertainties in the context of project management and innovation, providing a panorama of the literature. The methodological approach selected is a systematic literature review, merging bibliometrics, network analysis, and content analysis. The results present the most cited authors, keywords networks, research trends and gaps. Both definitions, risks and uncertainties, were analyzed. It could be verified that most publications use the terms as synonyms. This study described the conceptual model that could help research and organizations to understand the main construct and variables related to integrated management systems.
