RESUMO:O objetivo de nosso trabalho é expor o ponto final da argumentação de Foucault acerca do cuidado de si cristão (epimeleia ton allon), demonstrando que a epimeleia ton allon cristã está intimamente ligada à modalidade de governo das almas e dos corpos que Foucault denomina de pastorado cristão. Queremos mostrar como a recusa de Foucault em aceitar uma autêntica epimeleia heautou cristã, resultou no inevitável vínculo desta com o nascimento da biopolítica moderna. Nossa argumentação vai no sentido de mostrar que era inevitável, para Foucault, fazer tais considerações e chegar a esta conclusão, unindo em uma cadeia causal epimeleia ton allon cristã, governo pastoral e biopolítica moderna. No decorrer de nosso percurso, utilizaremos os argumentos de Agamben, expostos principalmente em sua obra El reino y la gloria, na qual ele trata do entrecruzamento de dois paradigmas: a teologia política e a economia política. O ponto final de nossa argumentação é que a recusa do oikos como locus da prática da epimeleia heautou ocasionaria de forma inevitável a intensificação da epimeleia ton allon cristã através do paradigma da oikonomia, resultando que o Cristianismo não teria contribuído de outra forma para a prática do cuidado de si, a não ser intensificando e ressignificando práticas no sentido de operar uma verdadeira hermenêutica dos desejos, já que a partir de dita hermenêutica seria possível levar a cabo o governo total da vida dos indivíduos.
Considerando o desenvolvimento das cidades, pautado pelo capitalismo e atravessado pelas relações de poder, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar algumas dinâmicas que formatam o espaço urbano. Partindo das perspectivas de Michel Foucault, o propósito é contextualizar a biopolítica, relacionando variáveis que influenciam no contexto socioespacial e analisando as problemáticas do espaço urbano em um campo além do técnico. No primeiro tópico, destaca-se a cidade com ênfase na articulação dos mecanismos de poder sobre a população. Com isso, o direito à cidade fica prejudicado pelo esquadrinhamento da população e a formação do urbano de forma precária. No segundo tópico são ressaltados os processos de segregação e violência, considerando o papel do racismo de Estado a eles relacionados.
