Este estudo objetivou analisar hortas urbanas de um projeto desenvolvido pela Prefeitura de Palmas, capital do Tocantins. Pretendeu-se compreender seus desafios no processo de implantação e manutenção, suas dificuldades administrativas para gerir a produção e a distribuição, bem como suas representações socioeconômicas de famílias envolvidas nessa atividade. A metodologia exploratória aplicada ao estudo implicou o levantamento e a análise do perfil e das práticas dos horticultores responsáveis pelas hortas estudadas. Justificou-se o estudo por entender que é importante fomentar a replicação de hortas urbanas para o reconhecimento dessa atividade, considerando o seu potencial como ferramenta para a promoção do desenvolvimento local, geração de renda complementar, interação social dos envolvidos e o resgate cultural da produção de alimentos saudáveis para consumo próprio. Concluiu-se com o estudo que as hortas urbanas promovem a inclusão social das famílias envolvidas, principalmente em relação aos grupos de pessoas de baixa renda, desempregados, idosos e mulheres. Este estudo suporta-se na análise de 12 hortas urbanas integrantes de projeto desenvolvido pela Prefeitura de Palmas, capital do estado do Tocantins, Brasil. Pretendeu-se compreender os desafios do processo de implantação e manutenção, as dificuldades administrativas encontradas para gerir a produção e distribuição e as representações socioeconômicas das famílias envolvidas nessa atividade. Nesse contexto, buscou-se perceber se as hortas urbanas podem ser entendidas como ferramenta de desenvolvimento comunitário, geradora de benefícios socioeconômicos, de erradicação da pobreza e de saúde alimentar. A metodologia exploratória aplicada ao estudo implicou o levantamento e análise do perfil e práticas dos 183 horticultores integrantes do projeto desenvolvido pela Prefeitura de Palmas. Concluiu-se que as hortas urbanas promovem a inclusão social das famílias envolvidas, principalmente em relação aos grupos de pessoas com baixa renda, desempregados, idosos e mulheres. Por esse motivo, chegou-se ao entendimento de que é importante fomentar a replicação e o reconhecimento do potencial das hortas urbanas como ferramenta para a promoção do desenvolvimento local, geração de renda complementar, interação social dos horticultores envolvidos e especialmente o resgate cultural da produção de alimentos para o consumo próprio. Sugere-se, a partir dos resultados encontrados, a necessidade de aprofundar o tema, em especial no que respeita à diminuição dos obstáculos detectados, os quais reduzem o potencial e as oportunidades oferecidas pela dinâmica desse modelo de hortas urbanas em Palmas.
O presente estudo versou sobre uma análise qualitativa que teve como objeto a segregação socioespacial vista sob a ótica da intersecção gênero, raça e classe. Nesse sentido, compreendendo que o gozo do Direito à Cidade não é percebido de forma isonômica pela população e também que este direito permeia outros direitos fundamentais como o Direito à Moradia, à Educação, ao Lazer, à Cultura e à Segurança Pública, realizou-se uma revisão bibliográfica para fundamentar o recorte sugerido para o estudo do espaço urbano, extraindo-se das considerações que compõem este estudo que hodiernamente mulheres pobres e negras são as principais afetadas pela segregação socioespacial.
Este artigo objetivou realizar revisão sistemática de literatura sobre a Agenda 2030 e a implicação dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) em tempos de pandemia do vírus Sars-CoV-2 (COVID-19). A metodologia amparou-se nos métodos Bibliométrico, Methodi Ordinatio e Prisma, a partir da triagem de 346 artigos da base de dados Web of Science, com recorte temporal até o ano de 2020, através dos descritores “2030 Agenda” AND (“Sustainable Development Goals” OR “SDGs”). Os resultados evidenciaram que a pandemia trouxe retrocesso aos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável. A conclusão foi de que as decisões dos governos materializadas por seus arranjos organizacionais, articuladas por ações intersetoriais e participativas, são cruciais para evitar efeitos deletérios à efetivação do plano global de desenvolvimento sustentável em tempos de COVID-19. No caso, foi apontado que as universidades desempenham papel fundamental para a implementação dos ODS, podendo auxiliar os gestores públicos e seus arranjos organizacionais na promoção da sustentabilidade.
Buscou-se com este artigo propor debate e reflexões acerca do Estatuto da Cidade, especialmente sobre os desafios da (in) aplicação pelos municípios da Amazônia legal. Foi necessário pela amplitude do tema proceder um recorte e destacar dois pontos: a função social da propriedade e a regularização fundiária urbana; entendendo-os como pontos de maior relevância nesta legislação. A metodologia qualitativa aplicada ao estudo partiu da análise do Estatuto, destacando questões como: a sua longa duração no trâmite para aprovação, mais de uma década, e a estratégia de seu encaminhamento ao Senado Federal, por não ser comum o ingresso de Projetos de Lei por esta Casa Legislativa, que acabou por desarticular as ações contrárias promovidas pelos empresários imobiliários, que vinham demandando ações para evitar a sua aprovação. Com o estudo foi possível constatar que a referida legislação não alcançou, como deveria ter alcançado, os pequenos municípios, especialmente aqueles com população menor de vinte mil habitantes, visto que não são obrigados a elaborar o Plano-Diretor Municipal. Este fato notório contribuiu para os resultados constatados sobre os pequenos avanços conquistados e a considerável (in) aplicação dos instrumentos do Estatuto na Amazônia legal.
