Seven new species of Trichorhina Budde-Lund, 1908 are described, six from Southeastern Brazil, T. biumbonata sp. nov., T. lenkoi sp. nov., T. myrmecophila sp. nov., T. orensis sp. nov., T. sexdens sp. nov., T. tropidocerata sp. nov., and one from Central Brazil, T. crassisetae sp. nov. An emended diagnosis for the genus and a key to the 19 species recorded from Brazil are provided. Trichorhina acuta Araújo & Buckup, 1994 is recorded to state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
A new species of Anoplodactylus was discovered in coral reefs from the State of Paraíba, northeastern Brazil. A. mirim sp. nov. is very small and is characterized for having 3 teeth on the cheliphores and a very small cement gland. It belongs to the A. pygmaeus complex, which contains very small species. A. batangensis is recorded for the first time along the Brazilian coast, and A. eroticus is recorded for the first time in the South Atlantic. We record the fifth known case of gynandromorphism, the fourth for Anoplodactylus, based on two specimens of A. eroticus.
Monokalliapseudes schubarti is an endemic tanaidacean microcrustacean from southeastern Brazil to Uruguay inhabiting low energy estuaries. Saco da Fazenda is located in the estuary of the Itajaí-Açú River, state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. It is exposed to strong anthropic impact and receives intensive flows of domestic wastewater, solid residues, and drainage activities. Specimens of M. schubarti were collected monthly, in the intertidal and subtidal regions of Saco da Fazenda, in four stations defined as a function of the physiography of the environment during the period of July 2003 to June 2004. Fecundity values were high, with continuous reproductive activity during the whole period of study. The greatest population densities were observed in the intertidal region, where they are nevertheless intensely consumed by birds, swimming crabs, and fish. This species represents a fundamental link in the food chain of Saco da Fazenda, transferring energy from the detritus level to higher trophic levels. Habitat disturbance and high organic matter may represent factors controlling the distribution of populations of M. schubarti. For this reason, the species may be used to monitor anthropic effects in estuarine areas.
RESUMO Considerando que certos termos e conceitos têm importância para o entendimento do contexto filogenético subjacente à classificação da diversidade biológica e alguns deles são considerados abstratos e de difícil compreensão, objetiva-se nesse trabalho: a) levantar os diversos termos filogenéticos citados em trabalhos de evento científico sobre ensino de Biologia, b) discutir aspectos conceituais relacionados e, c) estruturar um mapa conceitual ilustrativo para expressão de terminologias filogenéticas mais comuns. A metodologia seguiu elementos para levantamento de amostra e busca de termos característicos no entendimento da sistemática filogenética. Acrescentaramse alguns fundamentos teóricos e metodológicos ao utilizar-se a técnica de mapeamento conceitual. A busca pelos referenciais de análise centrou-se nas publicações do Encontro Nacional de Ensino de Biologia (ENEBio, edições de 2010 à 2018). Investigaram-se primeiramente o título e, posteriormente o artigo por completo na busca de algum termo relacionado ao foco da pesquisa, tais como: sistemática filogenética, cladística, cladograma, homologia, entre outros. Estudos sobre termos filogenéticos com representação em mapa conceitual possibilita ilustrar graficamente uma proposta de interação conceitual de forma mais facilitada do que num texto linear.
