Internet cambió para siempre los medios de comunicación. El espacio digital permitió nuevas formas de generar contenidos periodísticos. Los primeros en saltar al ruedo fueron los medios tradicionales, quienes lanzaron sus ediciones en línea. Poco después surgieron nuevos medios, los llamados nativos digitales. En América Latina, factores como la brecha de conectividad y la concentración de la propiedad han influido en el desarrollo del ecosistema digital. Este texto explora tendencias de los nativos digitales latinoamericanos desde tres ejes: las agendas informativas, los modelos de sostenimiento y los efectos de los medios. Es una reflexión sobre la forma en que las iniciativas periodísticas locales han aprovechado las cualidades de internet para hacerse un lugar en la esfera pública.
Tecnologías de la comunicación. Una breve historia material propone una revisión de la historia social de los artefactos y la tecnología de la comunicación. Lo hace de manera introductoria y para un público que está iniciando una exploración sobre la relación entre los soportes de expresión y comunicación y su inserción y apropiación cultural y política en distintas sociedades y períodos históricos. Se trata de un aporte a la arqueología de medios y de las tecnologías asociadas a estos, particularmente en el contexto latinoamericano y colombiano.
Las industrias creativas en América Latina están en auge. A pesar de que la creatividad, la producción y la creación de valor en países como México y Colombia son un motor poderoso para el producto interno bruto, el porcentaje de representación de las mujeres en este sector de la economía sigue siendo un gran reto. Por este motivo, el presente libro, resultado de la colaboración entre investigadores de la Universidad de los Andes y el Tecnológico de Monterrey, estudia emprendimientos de mujeres en la región; reúne testimonios de empoderamiento femenino en industrias tales como el cine, la fotografía, la edición y la moda, entre otros; y muestra el camino para las nuevas generaciones que trabajarán por conseguir mejores oportunidades y condiciones.
