Heat and power have become the most indispensable resources. However, the traditional ways of generating power and heat are inefficient and cause high pollution; a CHP (Combined Heat and Power) unit can solve these problems well. In recent years, more attention has been paid to energy conservation and environmental protection, and Combined Heat and Power Economic Emission Dispatch (CHPEED) has become an important multi-objective optimization problem. In this paper, an Indicator & crowding Distance-based Evolutionary Algorithm (IDBEA) is put forward for handling this non-convex and non-linear problem. With consideration of the valve-point effects and power transmission loss, IDBEA is tested on three standard test systems with different types, including four units, five units and seven units. In the experiment, IDBEA is compared with several evolutionary algorithms, the simulation results demonstrate that IDBEA has strong stability and superiority, while the solutions show better convergence and diversity than several typical algorithms.

Summary Combined heat and power economic dispatch (CHPED) problem is a sophisticated constrained nonlinear optimization problem in a heat and power production system for assigning heat and power production to minimize the production costs. To address this challenging problem, a novel social cognitive optimization algorithm with tent map (TSCO) is presented for solving the CHPED problem. To handle the equality constraints in heat and power balance constraints, adaptive constraints relaxing rule is adopted in constraint processing. The novelty of our work lies in the introduction of a new powerful TSCO algorithm to solve the CHPED issue. The effectiveness and superiority of the presented algorithm is validated by conducting 2 typical CHPED cases. The numerical results show that the proposed approach has better convergence speed and solution quality than all other existing state‐of‐the‐art algorithms.

This paper adopts the GDYN model to estimate the dynamic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global manufacturing industry and the value chain. Our simulation finds that (1) In the short run, the low-tech manufacturing industries will suffer greater shocks, with a decline of output growth in 2021 by 6.0%. The growth rate of the high-tech manufacturing industry showed an increasing trend of 3.7% in 2021. (2) In the post-epidemic period, the total manufacturing output will return to the baseline level, from which the growth rate of low-tech manufacturing will rebound, demonstrating a V-shaped development trajectory. (3) From the perspective of Global Value Chain (GVC), the participation in GVCs of manufacturers in countries along the Belt and Road, the European Union and the United States will weaken, while China’s manufacturing industry has witnessed an obvious improvement in export competitiveness. The import added value of China has decreased, which shows that its ability to meet domestic demand has been improving. This indicates that the COVID-19 pandemic is providing a crucial opportunity for China to upgrade its manufacturing value chain, which contributes to the accelerated construction of a new dual-cycle development pattern.

Background Memory CD8 + T cell responses play an essential role in protection against persistent infection. However, HIV-1 evades vaccine-induced memory CD8 + T cell response by mechanisms that are not fully understood. Methods We analyzed the temporal dynamics of CD8 + T cell recall activity and function during EcoHIV infection in a potent PD1-based vaccine immunized immunocompetent mice. Findings Upon intraperitoneal EcoHIV infection, high levels of HIV-1 GAG-specific CD8 + T lymphocytes recall response reduced EcoHIV-infected cells significantly. However, this protective effect diminished quickly after seven days, followed by a rapid reduction of GAG-specific CD8 + T cell number and activity, and viral persistence. Mechanistically, EcoHIV activated dendritic cells (DCs) and myeloid cells. Myeloid cells were infected and rapidly expanded, exhibiting elevated PD-L1/-L2 expression and T cell suppressive function before day 7, and were resistant to CD8 + T cell-mediated apoptosis. Depletion of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) reduced EcoHIV infection and boosted T cell responses. Interpretation This study provides an overview of the temporal interplay of persistent virus, DCs, MDSCs and antigen-specific CD8 + T cells during acute infection. We identify MDSCs as critical gatekeepers that restrain antiviral T cell memory responses, and highlight MDSCs as an important target for developing effective vaccines against chronic human infections.
