The purpose of this study was to find out how to make probiotics with local materials and to study the effect of feed supplemented with probiotic on the growth and survival rate of freshwater pomfret fish. This study used complete randomized design with 4 treatments, each with 3 replications. The treatments consisted of A (Probiotics 1.5 mL/100 g feed), B (Probiotics 3 mL/100 g feed), C (Probiotic 4.5 mL/100 g feed) and D (control). The fish was fed treatment diet two times a day. The results showed that the highest weight and length of fish were obtained in treatment C and the lowest in treatment B. Survival rate of pomfret was quite high ranging from 96-100%.Keywords: pomfret fish, probiotic, growth, survival rate
Program Kemitraan Masyarakat tentang teknik pembesaran ikan di keramba jaring apung (KJA) Kampung Bulo Kecamatan Tabukan Selatan dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan dari kelompok pembudidaya ikan dimana mereka selalu mengalami keterbatasan dalam penyediaan benih dan kurangnya pengetahuan tentang teknik budidaya ikan di KJA. Metode pengabdian dilakukan dengan cara pelatihan dan pendampingan bagi anggota kelompok untuk melakukan kegiatan pembesaran ikan. Adapun materi dan pelatihan yang diberikan adalah tentang teknik pembesaran ikan di KJA meliputi persiapan wadah, persiapan bibit dan penanganannya, pakan dan pengelolaan pakan. This Community Partnership Program (PKMS) on coral reef rearing technique in floating net cages (KJA) was conducted in Kampung Bulo, South Tabukan sub-district to overcome fisheries problems faced by the local fishermen. Their problems mainly stem from the lack of fish seeds and knowledge on how to cultivate fish in floating net cage. The method used in this PKMS included training and fisheries advisory service on how to rear coral reef fish in the floating net cage with main material presented covering floating net cage preparation, seed preparation and handling, feed and feed management.
Mekanisme pertahanan diri organisme adalah salah satu upaya untuk hidup di habitatnya. Pada kelompok hewan berduri Echinodermata: dikenal dengan istilah autotomi, yaitu proses melepaskan organ tubuh secara spontan sebagai respons terhadap suatu rangsangan yang membuat biota tersebut stres. Biota ini mampu melakukan eviserasi, fission dan regenerasi setelah proses pemutusan. Produk akhirnya adalah organ internal dan individu baru. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Teluk Tahuna selama 28 hari. Hasilnya Teripang Gamat Batu Stichopus horrens yang eviserasi dan pemotongan melintang ternyata mengalami penyusutan ukuran yang cukup besar. Tidak ada spesimen yang bertambah ukurannya. Jika terjadi eviserasi bagian tubuh yang dibuang adalah isi perut, yaitu kotoran, dan sebagian usus. Bagian tubuh yang tersisa pada spesimen yang dipotong adalah yang melekat pada bagian anterior, yaitu pangkal tenggorokan, lambung dan sebagian usus. Sedangkan bagian posterior tidak pernah ditemukan gonad, hanya sebagian usus dan pohon respirasi yang berpangkal pada bagian kloaka. Kondisi organ internal (pencernaan, pohon respirasi dan gonad) setelah eviserasi maupun pemotongan melintang menyusut ukurannya, baik saat tebar awal sampai hari ke-28. Sehingga memberikan arti bahwa pada 4 minggu pertama individu teripang ini setelah belum melakukan regenerasi organ internal. In the group of spiny animals Echinoderm: known as autotomy, which is the process of spontaneously releasing organs in response to a stimulus that stresses the biota. This biota is capable of evisceration, fission and regeneration after the transverse fission. The end products are internal organs and new individuals. This research was conducted in Tahuna Bay for 28 days. The result was that the sea cucumber Gama Batu or Stichopus horrens was revised and that the transverse fission actually experienced a significant reduction in size. There is no specimen that increased in size. If there is evisceration, the parts of the body that are removed are the stomach contents, namely feces, and part of the intestines. The body parts remaining in the transeverse fission specimen are those attached to the anterior, namely the larynx, stomach and a portion of the intestines. Parts of the body are missing. While the posterior gonads have never been found, only a part of the intestine and respiration tree originates from the cloaca. The condition of the internal organs (intestines, respiration tree and gonads) which were eviscerated and the transverse fission experienced a reduction in size, both during initial stocking until the 28th day. It means that in the first 4 weeks the individual these sea cucumber had not regenerated the internal organs.
Pengembangan budidaya ikan air tawar memerlukan strategi yang melibatkan berbagai pihak terkait mulai dari awal perencanaan sampai pada pelaksanaan di lapangan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan tentang penyusunan perencanaan pengembangan budidaya ikan di Kampung Kuma 1. Kegiatan diikuti oleh Pemerintah Kampung Kuma 1, Kapitalaung bersama dengan perangkat kampung, Babinsa, MTK, Ketua PKK, Ketua LPMK, perwakilan dari masyarakat pembudidaya ikan. Kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2020, dengan materi yang diberikan yaitu (1) Potensi budidaya ikan air tawar Kampung Kuma 1, (2) Program pengembangan budidaya ikan air tawar (3) Praktek penyusunan program pengembangan dengan skala prioritas. Hasil kegiatan PKMS dituangkan dalam dokumen usulan rencana pengembangan budidaya ikan. Peserta kegiatan sangat antusias dengan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan karena kegiatan ini dirasa sangat bermanfaat bagi kampung kuma 1 khususnya dalam kegiatan pembangunan, dimana Kampung Kuma 1 yang sementara mempersiapkan perencanaan pembangunan desa untuk tahun 2021. The development of freshwater aquaculture requires a collaborative strategy among fisheries stakeholders, ranging from establishing initial plans to implementation in the field. This community service (PKMS) aimed to provide fisheries extension (fishery advisoy service) and training on fish farming development plan in Kuma 1 Village. It was attended by the vilage’s officials (the local governments, head of the village, Babinsa, MTK, head of PKK, head of LPMK) and representatives of fish farming community from the village. Fishery advisory service and training were carried out in September 2020 with presented materials including (1) Potential of freshwater fish farming in Kuma Village 1, (2) Freshwater fish cultivation development program and (3) Knowledge on how to prioritize fisheries development programs. The results have been written in form of a proposal entitled fish cultivation development plans. The participants were very enthusiastic about this PKMS progam because of its significant contribution to Kuma 1 village, coinciding with the village effort to prepare its 2021 development programs.
