Os acidentes de trânsito estão em evidência no mundo por serem considerados como problema de saúde pública, sendo as vítimas de acidente de motocicleta responsáveis pela lotação dos serviços de urgência e emergência da cidade de Palmas-TO. O estudo teve como objetivo comprovar a efetividade de um programa de intervenção educativa para mudança de comportamento dos motociclistas. A metodologia utilizada foi o ensaio comunitário. Para coleta de dados utilizou-se o banco de dados do Programa Municipal Vida no Trânsito, com análise estatística descritiva e de inferências comparando o antes e depois da intervenção. Os resultados mostraram que houve redução dos acidentes, depois do programa educativo. Antes da intervenção 75,76% dos acidentes corresponderam a colisões entre automóvel e moto, depois 40,91% (p < 0,05). Os acidentes ocorreram em vias em boas condições em ambos os momentos, com sinalização (71,88% antes -81,82% depois), com boa iluminação (84,37% antes -100% depois e com o tempo bom (90,32% antes -100% depois). Os homens jovens, solteiros, com idade menor que 25 anos, condutores foram as principais vítimas. Depois da intervenção, velocidade, conduzir em local impróprio, desrespeito a sinalização, atitude imprudente foram as condutas que mostraram mudança positiva de comportamento (p < 0,05).

Dependendo do tipo de resíduo hospitalar, podemos eleger diferentes alternativas de tratamento e grande aproveitamento para a reciclagem. O presente estudo tem por objetivo analisar a relação entre a implementação de um programa de intervenção para o manejo de resíduos e a efetividade produzida com a mudança a partir de sua distribuição adequada. Trata-se de um estudo analítico/explicativo de causa-efeito, com análise estatística descritiva comparando o antes e depois da intervenção por meio da pesagem dos resíduos. Como resultado, verificou-se 13.298,37 kg em na primeira pesagem, referente a um mês de coleta, destes 17% foram classificados como infectantes e 83% como comuns. A partir da implementação do programa de intervenção, foi realizada nova pesagem por trinta dias e o total de resíduos apresentou uma redução de 3,75% (12.799,44 kg) mesmo havendo um número maior de atendimento que no mês da pesagem anterior. A motocicleta tornou-se um veículo popular, e por sua vez é o meio de transporte que configura o maior índice de acidentes, pois seu uso seja como meio de transporte, trabalho ou simplesmente como lazer, tem aumentado rapidamente nos últimos anos. O objetivo foi traçar o perfil e o comportamento do motociclista, utilizando a escala de comportamento no trânsito para motociclistas. Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico, transversal e quantitativo, no qual obteve uma amostra de 161 motociclistas. Os dados foram coletados nos meses de setembro e outubro de 2013, por meio de um questionário com perguntas fechadas. Os resultados mostraram que dentre os comportamentos observados destacou-se a falta de uso dos Equipamentos de Segurança Individual, pois o único usado por todos rotineiramente foi o capacete; o uso de bebida alcoólica combinado com direção foi afirmado por 46,9%; as questões relacionadas ao excesso de velocidade foram relatadas por 64,8% dos motociclistas; as acrobacias ainda são praticadas por 45,8% dos questionados e os erros de atenção chegou a 46,6%, dos entrevistados. O estudo permitiu conhecer e caracterizar estes condutores, auxiliando na elaboração de políticas públicas, mostrando a necessidade de intensificar a fiscalização e o fortalecimento de condutas preventivas e defensivas no trânsito.
