De acordo com a Organização das Nações Unidas, o número global de pessoas idosas poderá chegar a 1,4 bilhões no ano de 2030 e a 2,1 bilhões em 2050, a prevalência de sintomas depressivos na população com idade acima de 65 anos vivendo em comunidades varia entre 10,3% e 13,5% em países desenvolvidos, ao mesmo tempo que no Brasil essa porcentagem pode chegar a 14,3%, o Alzheimer's Disease International estima que o número de pessoas com a doença no mundo deve chegar a 75 milhões em 2030 e a 132 milhões no ano de 2050.OBJETIVO: Identificar as publicações científicas acerca da relação entre a depressão no idoso com a Doença de Alzheimer. METODOLOGIA: trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, tipo narrativa que se realizou pela busca, na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, nas bases de dados, Literatura Latino Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde e Base de Dados da Enfermagem.
