Abstract:The purposes of this study are to find out the effect of corporate governance structure on information asymmetry, to find out the effect of corporate governance structure on disclosure, and to find out the effect of disclosure on information asymmetry in Indonesia banking industry. This study used partial least square/ variance based statistical method. The results of this study found out that good implementation of corporate governance structure will increase disclosure in Indonesia banking industry. The other result implied that the higher implementation disclosure will reduce information asymmetry in Indonesia banking industry (disclosure represented by the indicator of percentage corporate governance items disclosed or as IPCG).

This study used data of manufacturing companies listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) as unit of analysis. The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of voluntary disclosures and audit quality on information asymmetry. This study also aims to determine the effect of voluntary disclosure, audit quality and information asymmetry on stock return. In addition, this study aims to find out the ability of information asymmetry to mediate the effect of voluntary disclosure and audit quality on information asymmetry.This research used verificative-descriptive method with quantitative approach. The analytical method used in statistical data processing was path analysis. There are 132 manufacturing companies listed on JSX became the research samples of this study.The testing results shows that there are significant impact of voluntary disclosure and audit quality on information asymmetry. The testing results also show that there are significant impact of voluntary disclosure and information asymmetry on stock return, while the audit quality has no significant impact on stock return. At the same time, information asymmetry is significant to be the mediating variable on the impact of voluntary disclosure and audit quality towards stock return. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengungkapan sukarela, kualitas audit dan asimetri informasi terhadap return saham. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan asimetri informasi untuk menengahi efek pengungkapan sukarela dan kualitas audit pada penelitian asymmetry.This informasi menggunakan metode verifikatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam pengolahan data statistik adalah analisis jalur. Hasil pengujian juga menunjukkan bahwa ada dampak signifikan dari pengungkapan sukarela dan asimetri informasi terhadap return saham, sedangkan kualitas audit tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap return saham. Information disclosure carried out by management as an appointed agent is increasing in importance and hence, a source of concerns to users.  It is widely believed that information received by the stakeholders should be appropriate and sufficient for useful decision making, especially in the era of the Fourth industrial revolution. An appropriate and sufficient disclosure in the Annual report indicates a reflection of the effective implementation of the company's operational, strategic, financial and compliance objectives that have been carried out by the management. This study employed secondary data obtained from the annual report for the banks listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data for internal control disclosure was observed through a content analysis approach by calculating the internal control system index obtained in the annual report. This study has shown that companies with high earnings quality report more openly convey the application of internal controls system disclosure. This study demonstrated that company with the high characteristics of the audit committee would significantly increase disclosure of internal controls system than a company without audit committee.  Supervision, as one of the internal controls established by the management, enhances the performances of the audit committee in ensuring compliance through full disclosure of the financial statements. Thus, restoring users’ trust and confidence in making informed and useful decisions on information emanating from the management.

This research examines the effects of the independent audit committee on the relationship between managerial ownership and independent board member on audit quality in the Indonesian listed banks. Primarily, the study examines the direct relationship of managerial ownership, independent board member and independent audit committee on the audit quality of listed banks in the Indonesian Stock Exchange. Also, the current study explores the mediating effect, indirect effect, of the independent audit committee on the relationship between managerial ownership, independent board member, and audit quality in the listed banks in Indonesia. The results show that the independent board member has a significant impact on the independent audit committee and the audit quality. The study reveals that managerial ownership does not influence audit quality. The adoption of the independent audit committee with a long tenure of years can be potentially risky and less creative. As a result, their oversight functions may be in jeopardy, impaired or reduced performances. The research findings reveal no significant indirect effects of the independent audit committee on the relationship between managerial ownership, independent board member and audit quality in the banks listed in IDX. Independent board members need to renew the appointment of the independent audit committee members to improve the quality of the oversight functions undertaken by the audit committee, and hence, enhance audit quality.
