Rodriguezia granadensis (Lindl.) Rchb. f. es una orquídea epífita que crece sobre árboles, en zonas poco intervenidas. Para la germinación de sus semillas y en los estadios iniciales de su desarrollo forma relaciones simbióticas con hongos micorrícicos, los cuales, brindan los nutrientes que necesita. En el municipio de Fusagasugá esta especie crece en condiciones naturales y debido a la belleza de sus flores es promisoria para su producción comercial, pero hay poca información sobre los microorganismos asociados a esta planta; por lo tanto, el presente trabajo tuvo como propósito identificar, a nivel de género, los hongos asociados a las raíces de R. granadensis, en el agroecosistema Hacienda Betania. Se tomaron muestras de raíz, anotando el forofito donde se encontraban las plantas. En laboratorio, se dividieron en tres extremos: proximal, medio y distal y se realizaron cortes transversales, para identificar enrollamientos hifales. Adicionalmente, se sembraron explantes en agar papa dextrosa, agar Sabouraud y medio de Ko y Hora. Se identificó al género Rhizoctonia, con una frecuencia del 95 %. Se encontró que el 70 % de las plantas muestreadas crecían sobre árboles de guayabo y el 30 % sobre cítricos. Los resultados indican que R. granadensis pueden tener interacciones con hongos del género Rhizoctonia.
El mejoramiento del manejo fitosanitario en producciones de cacao (Theobrorna cacao L) involucra el uso de alternativas amigables como los productos a base de plantas con actividad antimicrobiana tal es el caso del género Piper. Esta investigación buscó cuantificar las enfermedades presentes en plantaciones de cacao en municipios de la región del Tequendama Cundinamarca-Colombia y evaluar aspectos eco fisiológicos de Piper SP. Se trabajó en seis fincas de la Asociación de Cacaoteros del Bajo Tequendama en Viotá, Anapoima y Tocaima. Se evaluó la incidencia y severidad de las enfermedades y se generaron mapas de calor. Se tomaron muestras vegetales sintomáticas para su identificación en laboratorio. Se ubicaron relictos de Piper SP en Viotá y Apulo y se evaluó densidad estomática, temperatura de la hoja, índice de verdor y área foliar específica, así como variables ambientales: temperatura, precipitación, radiación solar, apertura del dosel y contenido de nitrógeno y textura del suelo. Las enfermedades con mayor incidencia fueron monialiasis (Moniliophthora raran) y mazorca negra (Phytophohora spp), seguidas de mal de machete (Ceratocysus sp) y muerte regresiva (Lasiodiplodia sp). Se identificaron morfológicamente los géneros fúngicos Monillophtora, Fusanum, Colletotrichum, Lasiodioplodia, Phytophthora, Trichoderma, Clonostachys y Aspergillus. En los relictos de piperáceas se encontró una relación directa entre la temperatura de la hoja y del ambiente. La densidad estomática se asocia a elementos taxonómicos y las plantas con mayor contenido de nitrógeno total presentan un mayor índice de verdor.
Esta cartilla presenta a la comunidad la información generada en el proyecto de investigación denominado “Aproximación a la ecología de orquídeas nativas en el ecosistema hacienda Betania con proyección a su conservación, manejo y producción”, el cual fue desarrollado por el Grupo de Investigación PROSAFIS de la Universidad de Cundinamarca. Este manuscrito es una contribución al manejo, tuvieron y valoración de las orquídeas nativas, destacando la orquídea Rodriguezia granadensis, presente en ciertos relictos agroecológicos en áreas de influencia de Fusagasugá. Los resultados obtenidos en la investigación mostraron la preferencia o alta adaptación de R. granadensis a los forofitos de cítricos y de guayabos, que representaron el 83,3 % de los individuos con presencia de esta orquídea. La fase vegetativa de la orquídea predominó durante todo el período evaluado, con una ligera disminución en los períodos lluviosos y un aumento en la época seca. Los mayores porcentajes de plantas en fase de floración y de cápsula correspondieron a las épocas de mayor pluviometría lo que significa que los individuos de R. granadensis sincronizan su fase reproductiva con el régimen de lluvias de la zona. Analizando las raíces de la orquídea, se encontró el género fúngico Rhizoctoniaen todas las muestras recolectadas y estos hongos se encontraron en las partes distales, medias y proximales de las raíces evaluadas. Los mayores porcentajes de plantas en fase de floración y de cápsula correspondieron a las épocas de mayor pluviometría lo que significa que los individuos de R. granadensis sincronizan su fase reproductiva con el régimen de lluvias de la zona.
