Este trabajo tuvo por objetivo describir las experiencias de docentes de escuelas secundarias de una entidad federativa de México respecto a la convivencia escolar en el contexto de pandemia por la COVID-19. La aproximación metodológica fue de tipo cualitativa con diseño basado en la teoría fundamentada. Por medio de grupos focales, se recabaron las experiencias de los docentes y la información obtenida se analizó a través de la técnica de comparación constante. Los resultados se agruparon en cuatro categorías: valores del docente, familia de los estudiantes, atención a las necesidades de los estudiantes y convivencia escolar poscovid-19. Se encontró que los docentes han adaptado estrategias didácticas y de comunicación que fortalecen los vínculos entre la triada docente-estudiante-padre de familia. Al robustecer este vínculo, los docentes tienen mayor conocimiento sobre las condiciones de desigualdad social de sus estudiantes, lo cual ha afianzado valores como empatía, solidaridad y compromiso. El estudio permite visibilizar las adaptaciones, los retos que enfrentan los docentes para construir la convivencia escolar en este escenario y los desafíos que se prevén al regresar a las escuelas.
