O presente estudo objetivou compilar informações relevantes acerca dos traços de personalidade e o enfrentamento das adversidades em decorrência do processo de envelhecer. Consistiu em uma pesquisa exploratória de revisão narrativa. Foram incluídas obras publicadas a partir do ano de 2014 nos bancos de dados PubMed e Scielo, utilizando-se descritores booleanos os termos: “Aging” AND “Personality”. Os achados demonstram que, enquanto disposições intrínsecas, os traços de personalidade influenciam na atribuição de significados e valores singulares ao processo de envelhecer. Assim como, influenciam comportamentos com a função de suprir as necessidades relacionadas com a configuração da personalidade. Salienta-se a relevância de investigar outras possíveis relações entre as variáveis apresentadas e possíveis implicações em vivências cotidianas. Nota-se que a estabilidade emocional pode exercer função protetiva ou de risco à pessoa idosa no que tange ao enfrentamento das adversidades e promoção da saúde mental.
Este estudo tem por objetivo identificar vulnerabilidades na autonomia e independência que imbricados nos aspectos cognitivos e de sintomas depressivos em pessoas idosas A amostra foi composta por 20 participantes de ambos os sexos, com idade igual ou superior a 62 anos. Os instrumentos utilizados foram o Mini Exame do Estado Mental (MEEM), a Escala de depressão geriátrica (EDG) abreviada com 15 itens e entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Os resultados demonstraram que todos os indivíduos possuíam percepções negativas sobre comprometimentos na autonomia e independência, também foi aferido que os idosos apresentaram diminuição nas atividades cotidianas. Dentre os participantes 55% apresentaram comprometimentos nos indicadores cognitivos e 30% a presença de sintomas depressivos. A quantidade de sintomas depressivos nos indivíduos que apresentaram comprometimento cognitivo foi 30% maior. Conclui-se que a presença de alterações cognitivas se apresentou como um preditor para presença de sintomas depressivos. A presença de alterações cognitivas e sintomalogia depressiva apresentaram correlação com a vulnerabilidade sobre a autonomia e independência de pessoas idosas, sendo estes, aspectos com influência direta na qualidade de vida e no bem-estar da população longeva.Palavras-chave: Envelhecimento. A aprendizagem é um processo que ocorre de maneira indissociável das vivências humanas e permeia diversos contextos, ambientes e características. Pautado na convergência entre o envelhecimento populacional e a vivência da aprendizagem durante toda a vida, este estudo objetivou compilar conhecimentos referentes à vivência do processo de envelhecimento, destacando os possíveis efeitos da aprendizagem não formal ao longo da vida sobre o indivíduo. Para tal, realizou-se uma investigação narrativa da literatura científica disponível nos bancos de dados Scielo e PubMed. Foi possível reconhecer que há organizações institucionais que se atentam para os benefícios da aprendizagem na velhice, estes, versando sobre os benefícios sociais e individuais, relacionando-se com a criação de redes de apoio, aumento da independência e sentimentos positivos como a autoestima. Conclui-se que a aprendizagem no processo de envelhecimento é uma importante fonte de impacto positivo de maneira multidimensional, favorecendo a qualidade de vida e o bem-estar na velhice.
