This service aims to provide environmental care socialization in Pangambat village. As a tourist village, Pangambaten village has problems in dealing with environmental challenges related to environmental cleanliness, so there is a need to educate and inform the community about environmental problems. One of the commitments of the international community and government in protecting the earth from pollution and damage is through the implementation of Environmental Education, which is the key to preparing people with knowledge, expertise, values and a caring attitude so that they can actively participate in solving environmental problems. The counseling on environmental care in this service program is intended as an initial step in building a character that cares about the environment in the community. This service was carried out in Pangambaten, Tanah Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province. This service is carried out in two methods, namely the interactive presentation method. This service activity is carried out in the following stages: 1) Equalization of Community Group Perceptions, 2) Group coaching, 3) Counseling on understanding about fostering environmental concern for environmental cleanliness by reviving the tradition of mutual cooperation.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeksripsikan tahapan-tahapan daritradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua, fungsi yang terkandungdalam tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua, nilai-nilai kearifanlokal yang terkandung dalam tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua.Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori speaking yang dikemukakan oleh Dell Hymes (1974), teori fungsi yang di ungkapkan oleh Leech(1992), teori kearifan lokal yang dikemukakan oleh Sibarani (2014). Adapunmetode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dapat penulis simpulkan adalah (1) 3 tahapan persiapan dan 8 tahapan pelaksanaan dalam tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua, adapun tahapan tersebut adalah pasada tahi, mompo/manggopoi, marriaraja, tortor bius, tortor pangurason, tortor tunggal panaluana, pajonjong borotan, manogu horbo, mangalahat horbo, padalan jambar, sipitu dae. (2) terdapat/terkandung fungsi tahapan persiapan dan 8 tahapan pelaksanaan tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua. (3) terdapat 13 nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua, yaitu, kesetiakawanan sosial, kerukunan & penyelesaian konflik, kesopansantunan, rasa syukur, kesejahteraan, pendidikan, pelestarian dan kreatifitas budaya, pengelolaan gender, kerja keras, pengendalian diri, gotong royong, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab.

In this study the method used in analyzing the problem is a qualitative method. This study uses the theory According to Danesi and Perron. There have been so many changes that have happened to the House or Bagas Godang because of the progress of the times.
This study aims to describe the meaning and symbol of the Cawir metua ritual ceremony, namely the death ceremony for the Karo community in Seberaya village, Karo district, North Sumatra Province. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method which is done by collecting data by observation and interviews; descriptions that are bold and deep in nature, working with key informants. The theoretical framework used is the Social Semiotics approach, which is to interpret language in the sociocultural context in which culture is interpreted in semiotic terms as an information system. Based on the research that has been done, the authors obtained the results of the research, namely the symbolic meaning of the Cawir metua ceremony is the existence of symbols that have philosophical meanings in the Cawir metua ceremony.are still poor and need to be improved.
Penelitian ini membahas tentang rekontruksi cerita rakyat di Geosite Geopark Toba Humbang Hasundutan Tapanuli Utara. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rekontruksi cerita rakyat geosite dan nilai kearifan lokal cerita rakyat di geosite. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengrekontruksi dan menentukan nilai kearifan lokal dalam cerita rakyat di geosite geopark Toba, Humbang Hasundutan, Tapanuli Utara. Adapun geosite yang penulis rekontruksi antara lain yaitu: 1. Geosite Taman Eden 100, 2. Geosite Meat, 3. Geosite Batu Basiha, 4. Geosite Liang Sipege, 5. Geosite Air Terjun Situmurun, 6. Geosite Sipinsur, 7. Geosite Bakara, 8. Geosite Tipang, 9. Geosite Huta Ginjang, 10. Geosite Muara, 11. Geosite Sibandang. Metode yang penulis gunakan dalam menganalisis masalah penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dan penelitian model naratif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori tradisi lisan. Kearifan lokal yang terdapat di cerita rakyat di Geosite Geopark Toba masih melekat di benak masyarakat setempat dan masih dilestarikan. Nilai-nilai budaya dalam cerita rakyat di Geosite Geopark Toba yaitu: kerja keras, kesopansantunan, pikiran positif, dan kejujuran.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ulaon parbogason alap jual Etnik Batak Toba. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data penelitian ini adalah teori analisis wacana kritis yang dikemukakan oleh Norman Fairclough (2001). Ada dua metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, data 1: Pengumpulan data, 2: Analisis data. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif sesuai dengan Manurung (2010). Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu perubahan dalam ulaon parbogason alap jual mencakup perubahan tahapan ulaon parbogason alap jual, tahapan tersebut antara lain: 1) mangaririt, 2) marhori-hori dinding, 3) marhusip, 4) marhata sinamot, 5) martumpol, 6) martonggo raja, 7) manjalo pasu-pasu parbogason.(1) Wacana yang berubah dalam ulaon parbogason alap jual adalah wacana marhata sinamot (2) Faktor yang menyebabkan perubahan tersebut adalah: 1) faktor sosial, 2) status sosial, 3) faktor ekonomi, 4) agama dan 5) perkembangan zaman. (3) Dampak dari perubahan ini memiliki 2 dampak yaitu dampak positif dan dampak negatif. Dampak Positif Upacara ulaon parbogason alap jual ini terlihat lebih mewahdan juga indah sedangkan dampak negatifnya ulaon parbogason alap jual ini sudah tidak asli lagi karena perkembangan zaman sudah semakin maju, solusi upaya yang dilakukan antara lain 1) Pemerintah Daerah, 2) Toko Adat, 3) Agama, 4) Ekonomi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ulaon parbogason alap jual ini adalah bahwa ulaon parbogason alap jual ini sudah ada terjadi perubahan, bergeser, bertambah, dan berkurang. Baik dari segi bahasa, musik, parhobas, marhusip, dan mangaririt.
This study aims to explore the meaning of the Pakpak traditional house ornament. This study reveals the meaning that symbolically represents cultural values in the Pakpak community. This study uses a semiotic approach with qualitative descriptive research methods. The ornaments in the Pakpak traditional house imitate the shapes associated with human limbs, in the form of animals, in the form of plants and resembling the cosmos or nature. Each form of ornament has a meaning which is the cultural values that the Pakpak community believes in.
Environmental cleanliness in tourist villages, especially in Dokan Village, is the main factor that needs to be considered to increase tourist visits. A clean environment will make visitors feel comfortable, besides that it will also create a healthy and clean environment. A tourist village is a village or area that has an unusual natural wealth, the village has natural resources that other villages may not have. The tourist village area is one of the places where environmental pollution most often occurs, which is carried out by the surrounding community and the outside community. The lack of public attention to the environment is very familiar, especially in today's era. Most of them think individually and only think about themselves. So we can see for ourselves how the impact of such a people's lifestyle on the environment in the tourist village of Dokan. Garbage that is disposed of improperly causes environmental pollution which will have a negative impact on the community itself. Therefore, environmental cleanliness also needs to be considered, not just talking about environmental cleanliness and how to overcome environmental pollution problems. So, if we can keep the environment clean and preserve the natural resources that are around us, it will certainly create a comfortable, clean, and beautiful living environment. In this case, it will be discussed about the role of the Dokan village community in implementing environmental cleanliness in the tourist village area. Environmental cleanliness in the tourist village area needs to be discussed because the area is a gathering place for people from inside and outside the village. This approach is intended so that the community has an attitude of caring about environmental cleanliness and preserving the natural resources in the surrounding villages.
