El Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH) y el SARS-CoV-2 comprometen el sistema inmunitario, esta coinfección puede conllevar a complicaciones más severas por COVID-19. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar los factores de riesgo y manifestaciones clínicas en pacientes con Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana y COVID-19. El diseño investigativo fue documental y descriptivo; la recolección de datos bibliográficos se obtuvo mediante la revisión de fuentes electrónicas como PubMed, Medigraphic, ScienceDirect, Cochrane, Scielo y Elsevier. Como principal resultado se evidenció que los factores de riesgo de mayor incidencia fue la diabetes, hipertensión arterial, patologías pulmonares, edad avanzada y hábitos nocivos; las manifestaciones clínicas más frecuentes son tos seca, cefalea, disnea, vómitos, diarrea y malestar general; por último, las complicaciones clínicas corresponden a compromiso renal, mayor riesgo de intubación, insuficiencia cardíaca, leucopenia y neumonías. Se concluye que existen algunos factores de riesgo que predisponen al contagio por covid-19 como las enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles, la obesidad y el consumo de tabaco; la sintomatología es similar a la población en general y las repercusiones son de tipo respiratorio, renal, cardíaca e inclusive conlleva a la muerte.
Las enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles constituyen en la actualidad uno de los mayores retos que enfrentan los sistemas de salud a nivel mundial, el gran número de casos afectados con sus consabidas tasas de incidencia cada vez más crecientes, su gradual contribución a la mortalidad genera. Analizar alteraciones hematológicas que desarrollan los adultos mayores con enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles. El presente estudio es un diseño documental, basado en artículos científicos sobre las alteraciones hematológicas, enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles, de tipo descriptivo, observacional, utilizando como método la exploración bibliográfica a partir de una revisión de 96 artículos de revistas publicados del 2015 al 2022, paginas oficiales como la Organización Mundial de la Salud, revisión de artículos científicos, bases de datos y herramientas como Google Académico y bases de datos Pubmed Central, Scielo, Elsevier. Esta búsqueda se la realizo llevando una jerarquía organizada comenzando desde el título, resumen y palabras claves, hasta la obtención de los resultados y discusión, utilizando criterios de inclusión mencionados a continuación: que sean artículos originales, resúmenes de artículos originales, que sean de idiomas inglés y español, que el resumen tenga palabras claves que la información se relevante al tema de investigación. Se logro identificar un sinnúmero de alteraciones hematológicas en ciertas enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles, las mismas que están inmersas en la serie roja, blanca y plaquetas ya que estas pueden variar dependiendo de la línea celular que se encuentre afectada, las más mencionadas fueron las anemias.
Recibido: 16 de Julio de 2019Aprobado: 14 de agosto de 2019La enfermedad renal es el resultado final de una serie de situaciones patológicas que causan daño irreversible al riñón, terminando en una pérdida progresiva de la función renal, que generalmente tiene consecuencias letales si el paciente no recibe tratamiento de diálisis o un trasplante. Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud, constituye una causa importante de muerte y discapacidad y estima que su tendencia crecerá de manera exponencial, fundamentalmente entre las poblaciones vulnerables, presentándose como una amenaza para la salud pública. Este estudio tuvo por objetivo determinar la prevalencia de la enfermedad renal en los miembros de la Asociación de Ancianos del Cantón Jipijapa, mediante el análisis de indicadores de concentración sanguínea del polipéptido Beta-2 Microglobulina, por métodos turbidimétricos; y relacionarlo con los factores de riesgo asociados al deterioro de la función renal, que se revelaron en las consultas de hábitos realizadas a estas personas mayores, como una acción profiláctica y detección temprana del padecimiento. Se empleó un método descriptivo de corte transversal, basado en un muestreo probabilístico que incluyó 49 individuos con una edad promedio de 71 años, los que se sometieron a los exámenes y encuestas. Los datos fueron recopilados en una ficha de registro y procesados en SPSS para su análisis. A pesar de que el 75.5% de los sujetos reflejaron valores aceptables en las pruebas de Microglobulina Beta-2, no se puede descartar que el resto presentara resultados considerados superiores a lo normal, corroborando la hipótesis inicial de que más del 15% de la población de estudio tenía valores elevados de concentración de las moléculas en estudio, lo que indica que desarrollaban una enfermedad renal. Los principales factores de riesgo asociados detectados corresponden, en orden de prioridad, a la hipertensión arterial y a la diabetes mellitus tipo 2. La relación entre la exposición al riesgo y los resultados de la prueba confirmaron su influencia y el efecto nocivo sobre los afectados.
Los países de América Latina viven una compleja situación epidemiológica, al coexistir en ellos dos epidemias Dengue y COVID-19. Se realizó un estudio con el objetivo de analizar la coinfección del Dengue y COVID-19, su comportamiento clínico epidemiológico en América Latina. Se empleó una metodología de carácter narrativa, documental e informativa. Se realizó una exhaustiva y completa búsqueda de información actualizada de los últimos cinco años sobre el tema, se consultó en total 58 artículos de los cuales se seleccionaron 14 artículos para la investigación que abordan el tema a investigar. Predominaron los estudios sobre población adulta (78.6 %) en relación con la población pediátrica y en embarazadas, igual existe bibliografía limitada sobre presentación de casos con coinfección por Dengue y COVID-19. El comportamiento epidemiológico de ambas epidemias estuvo caracterizado por una elevada tasa de incidencia, no así en cuanto a la tasa de letalidad, la cual fue baja en el Dengue y elevada en la COVID-19. Ambas presentaron un comportamiento clínico similar, predominaron la forma no grave de la misma, sin embargo, la COVID-19 presenta un elevado por ciento de la forma grave, destacándose la presentación asintomática en ambas enfermedades en un porciento variable y se reporta un diagnóstico demorado en los casos con coinfección por Dengue y COVID-19.
