La exposición ocupacional refiere al nivel de riesgo que mantiene un trabajador en su lugar de trabajo, en el caso del personal de salud estos se encuentran expuestos a contraer diversas enfermedades infecciosas que se tratan comúnmente en los entes hospitalarios. Este trabajo se trata de una revisión de la literatura, con el objetivo de analizar la exposición ocupacional y riesgo de enfermedades infecciosas adquiridas en el personal del área de la salud. La metodología conlleva un estudio con diseño documental, de tipo informativa, exploratoria con la finalidad de recopilar y sintetizar hallazgos de investigaciones realizadas por otros autores, para lo cual se realizó una búsqueda electrónica en las principales bases de datos de publicaciones indexadas de los últimos 5 años. En los resultados tenemos que entre las infecciones más comunes están el Covid-19, tuberculosis, resfriado común, VIH, entre otras; siendo su prevalencia condicionada por varios factores pudiendo ser está prevalencia baja como en la enfermedad de Lyme o alta como en el Covid-19; siendo los grupos más afectados los terapistas respiratorios, licenciadas, médicos entre otros. Se concluye que es necesario incrementar la responsabilidad del personal de salud en el cumplimiento de las medidas de precaución y así evitar riesgos por las enfermedades infecciosas comunes.
Con un tercio de todos los diagnósticos de cáncer en mujeres, el cáncer de mama es el cáncer más común en la población femenina, el riesgo aumenta notablemente después de los 50 años, sin embargo, una cuarta parte de los pacientes no han llegado a los 50 años en el momento del diagnóstico, los dos métodos principales que se utilizan para establecer el diagnóstico son la mamografía radiografía de las mamas y la biopsia o extracción de una muestra de tejido para examinarla al microscopio, este último es necesario para hacer el diagnóstico definitivo. El objetivo principal de esta indagación es analizar las prevalencias, los factores de riesgo y los métodos diagnósticos de cáncer de mama en mujeres. El método utilizado para esta investigación es un diseño narrativo documental de tipo descriptivo. La tasa de mortalidad por cáncer de mama durante los últimos años se ha visto aumentada, entre los resultados presentes referentes a los riesgos que predisponen la aparición de cáncer de mama se encuentran factores de riesgo modificables y no modificables, como conclusión cabe resalta que el carcinoma mamario constituye el cáncer más común entre la población femenina, esta etiología se ve aumentada diverso a varios factores como se analizó durante la revisión.
Recibido: 16 de Julio de 2019Aprobado: 14 de agosto de 2019La enfermedad renal es el resultado final de una serie de situaciones patológicas que causan daño irreversible al riñón, terminando en una pérdida progresiva de la función renal, que generalmente tiene consecuencias letales si el paciente no recibe tratamiento de diálisis o un trasplante. Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud, constituye una causa importante de muerte y discapacidad y estima que su tendencia crecerá de manera exponencial, fundamentalmente entre las poblaciones vulnerables, presentándose como una amenaza para la salud pública. Este estudio tuvo por objetivo determinar la prevalencia de la enfermedad renal en los miembros de la Asociación de Ancianos del Cantón Jipijapa, mediante el análisis de indicadores de concentración sanguínea del polipéptido Beta-2 Microglobulina, por métodos turbidimétricos; y relacionarlo con los factores de riesgo asociados al deterioro de la función renal, que se revelaron en las consultas de hábitos realizadas a estas personas mayores, como una acción profiláctica y detección temprana del padecimiento. Se empleó un método descriptivo de corte transversal, basado en un muestreo probabilístico que incluyó 49 individuos con una edad promedio de 71 años, los que se sometieron a los exámenes y encuestas. Los datos fueron recopilados en una ficha de registro y procesados en SPSS para su análisis. A pesar de que el 75.5% de los sujetos reflejaron valores aceptables en las pruebas de Microglobulina Beta-2, no se puede descartar que el resto presentara resultados considerados superiores a lo normal, corroborando la hipótesis inicial de que más del 15% de la población de estudio tenía valores elevados de concentración de las moléculas en estudio, lo que indica que desarrollaban una enfermedad renal. Los principales factores de riesgo asociados detectados corresponden, en orden de prioridad, a la hipertensión arterial y a la diabetes mellitus tipo 2. La relación entre la exposición al riesgo y los resultados de la prueba confirmaron su influencia y el efecto nocivo sobre los afectados.
La infección por el SARS-CoV-2 se ha convertido en uno de los actuales retos a los sistemas de salud de todo el mundo, causando una crisis que impactó a la población mundial, por su parte las enfermedades isquémicas se refieren al conjunto de afectaciones a los vasos sanguíneos, debido al daño cardiovascular. Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo el evaluar la relación del SARS-CoV-2 y enfermedades isquémicas en adultos. Se aplicó en la investigación un diseño documental narrativo de tipo descriptivo, se empleó como estrategia de búsqueda un análisis exhaustivo de documentos fiables que presentaron la información requerida en diferentes bases de datos de carácter internacional y nacional, aplicando criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Se determinó los índices de morbilidad presentados en los diversos estudios dado que son variables entre el 51.2% por la COVID-19 y 64.7% por enfermedades isquémicas siendo los adultos mayores el grupo vulnerable, los pacientes afectados presentaron niveles altos de marcadores séricos de trombosis e inflamación, como dímero D, fibrinógeno y proteína C reactiva, Troponina, así como niveles elevados de citoquinas inflamatorias, la presencia de factores de riesgo como hipertensión arterial, diabetes mellitus y daño cardiaco incrementaron la morbimortalidad de los pacientes adultos, principalmente en hombres y hace que los esfuerzos de los sistemas de salud se incrementen, es por esto que este tipo de investigaciones deben ser ampliadas para conocer de manera más especifica el nivel de afectación de la población que tiene mayores probabilidades de sufrir estas enfermedades.
La hemoglobina reticulocitaria es un nuevo parámetro dentro de los autoanalizadores hematológicos de cuarta generación, siendo indispensable en el diagnóstico y manejo de eritropoyesis deficiente en hierro, especialmente la deficiencia funcional de hierro, el secuestro de hierro y la deficiencia absoluta de hierro. Además, este parámetro demuestra ser más preciso que las pruebas bioquímicas como el hierro sérico, la ferritina y la saturación de transferrina, en la detección precoz de eritropoyesis deficiente en hierro. El objetivo de la investigación fue describir la utilidad clínica de la hemoglobina reticulocitaria (CHr) en el diagnóstico temprano de eritropoyesis por deficiencia de hierro absoluto en mujeres adolescentes. El tipo de investigación fue descriptivo, analítico, el diseño de campo transversal. La muestra voluntaria, no aleatoria estuvo constituida por 62 mujeres adolescentes con edades comprendidas entre los 14 y 19 años. Como resultado se encontró que el 97% de la muestra tiene disminución de la CHr, indicando eritropoyesis deficiente en hierro, mientras que un 3% de las adolescentes presentan valores normales para la CHr, se realizó la relación diagnostica entre pruebas de laboratorio tales como CHr y el Hierro sérico. También se reportó que el 93% de la muestra presenta déficit de hierro sin anemia, y un 7% tiene anemia ferropénica, el rango de edad con mayor predominio de anemia ferropénica fue entre los 14 y 16 años. Se concluye que la CHr es de utilidad clínica y una nueva herramienta de diagnóstico temprano de eritropoyesis por deficiencia de hierro
