Abstract:In this paper, we start from studies examining the role of the connective expression naverdade in order to show that this expression has an important performance in the way the speaker represents, in his speech, other speeches or other voices. Adopting the Geneva Model of discourse analysis as theoretical and methodological framework, we study the role of this expression in the polyphonic organization form of an opinion article and an election debate. As a result, this expression can function as a polyphonic implicit speech mark when the speaker retakes talks with origin in characters' voice and also as a diaphonic implicit speech mark when the speaker retakes talks with origin in the interlocutor's voice. As a polyphonic implicit speech mark, naverdade reinforces information given previously, in order to gain the reader's accession. But as a diaphonic implicit speech mark, the same expression works as a resource to attack, to reject or to impugn the interlocutor's speech.

For that, we used the modular approach of Discourse analysis. the study evidenced that the quando used in narrative sequences has the following properties: it articulates minimum constituents (the acts), it is an introductory one typical of the episode Complication and mark mainly time discourse relationships (succession and regression), but it can mark other categories of discourse relationships (topicalization, argumentation and reformulation). Key-words: connector quando; narrative sequence; modular approach of Discourse analysis. intrOdUçãO neste trabalho, apresentamos uma proposta para o estudo do conector quando. nessa proposta, considera-se que a pesquisa sobre o quando pode se beneficiar de uma abordagem que integre o estudo dos conectores a um modelo global da complexidade da organização do discurso. Neste artigo, focalizando a construção da cadeia referencial em fragmentos de textos acadêmicos, mostramos que a análise da forma de organização tópica dos textos possibilita a percepção de dificuldades que estudantes universitários manifestam nessa construção. Por meio das análises, identificamos e explicamos fragilidades na construção da cadeia referencial, tais como ambiguidades no reconhecimento dos tópicos, bem como dificuldades na introdução de novas informações e na manutenção de um tópico discursivo. Ainda, com as análises, verificamos que os textos acadêmicos constituem índices essenciais para a avaliação das capacidades de uso da linguagem de seus produtores. Por isso mesmo, essas análises podem funcionar como um ponto de partida precioso para o planejamento de atividades que auxiliem o estudante no desenvolvimento das habilidades necessárias para a construção da cadeia referencial de novos textos. Assim, evidenciamos que o Modelo de Análise Modular do Discurso constitui uma abordagem bastante relevante para o estudo de textos produzidos por estudantes universitários.
Este artigo apresenta uma análise do trabalho com o ensino de gramática proposto por coleções de livros didáticos de Língua Portuguesa, de modo a identificar as contribuições que as coleções têm trazido para o ensino. Apresentamos uma análise geral de 40 coleções, em uso em escolas de Ensino Fundamental do país nos períodos de 2010 a 2012 e de 2011 a 2013. Desenvolvemos essa análise com base no estudo dos livros didáticos, bem como nas resenhas dessas coleções, publicadas nos Guias de Livro Didático. Assumindo uma concepção discursiva da língua e da linguagem (ANTUNES, 2010), interessou-nos investigar: por meio de que tipos de atividades o trabalho com esse eixo é proposto? Como são abordados os fatos da língua? Até que ponto o ensino de gramática contribui para reflexão sobre o uso da língua? ABSTRACTThis paper presents an analysis of the work with grammar proposed in Portuguese textbook series, aiming at identifying contributions they offer for Portuguese teaching. We present a general analysis of 40 textbook series that are in use in primary schools for the periods 2010-2012 and 2011-2013. We developed this analysis based on the study of their textbooks and also on the Reviews published in the Textbook Guides regarding two editions of the National Textbook Program. Assuming a discursive conception of language (ANTUNES, 2010), what interested us was to understand: how is the work with linguistic knowledge in these collections; through what types of activities it is proposed; how the facts of language are approached; if the treatment of grammatical content contributes to a reflection on language use.
This paper investigates how some participants of a reality show, which featured on Brazilian television from January to April, 2004, produce and interpret discourse relationships. It will focus on the discursive relations among textual segments as well as on the pragmatic bonds between these segments and implicit information, all of which often signaled by linguistic elements, such as discourse markers. These linguistic elements contribute to the co-construction of text meaning since they point to a specific meaning relation among whatever potential meanings conveyed by the discourse content. This paper will also consider different discourse dimensions (syntactic, semantic and discursive) in order to investigate the properties of such linguistic elements and their function in the production of advisive speech acts.
This paper presents a partial analysis of the use of the item onde (where) in academic written texts produced by university students. These texts tend to present several cohesive mechanisms which are responsible for their realability. In general, the author constructs a coherent and cohesive discourse in order to lead his/her reader to the desired meaning. Nevertheless, sometimes he/she fails in using cohesive mechanisms, and that leads to a local incoherence, according to Charolles (1988). One example is the use of onde in written texts. In these texts, several passages were found in which this word was used without reference to places, i.e. not according to what is prescribed by traditional Portuguese grammar. It seems that this use of onde points to a different function, an enlargement of its field of action.
This paper examines the use of pragmatic connectives in journalistic texts, aiming at understanding issues involved in discourse articulation. The data we are working on is composed by opinion texts and news (written in Brazilian Portuguese) produced by proficient writers and published in a diary newspaper. Based on the Modular Approach to Discourse Analysis, we assume that the study of pragmatic connectives must be integrated in a global model of the complexity of the discourse organization. Thus, we present the description of the relational organization form of these texts, since this organization form deals with discursive relations as well as with the contributions of pragmatic connectives to their interpretation. Then, through the description of the relational organization of these texts, we discuss the observable differences between the genres through the use of pragmatic connective
