A quantum image searching method is proposed based on the probability distributions of the readouts from the quantum measurements. It is achieved by using low computational resources which are only a single Hadamard gate combined with m + 1 quantum measurement operations. To validate the proposed method, a simulation experiment is used where the image with the highest similarity value of 0.93 to the particular test image is retrieved as the search result from 4 × 4 binary image database. The proposal provides a basic step for designing a search engine on quantum computing devices where the image in the database is retrieved based on its similarity to the test image
A feature extraction method from capnograms used for classifying asthma is proposed based on wavelet decomposition. Its computational cost is low and its performance is adequate for classifying asthma in real time. Experiments performed using 23 capnograms from an asthma camp in Cuba showed 97.39% best classification accuracy. The time required for a physiological multiparameter monitor to determine the suitable features of capnograms averaged 8 seconds. The proposal is to be used as part of a decision support system for asthma classification being developed by TITECH and TMDU research groups.
Dental classification for periapical radiograph based on multiple fuzzy attribute is proposed, where each tooth is analyzed based on multiple criteria such as area/perimeter ratio and width/height ratio. A classification method on special type of dental image called periapical radiograph is studied and classification is done without speculative classification (in case of ambiguous object), therefore an accurate and assistive result can be obtained due to its capability to handle ambiguous tooth. Experiment results on 78 periapical dental radiographs from University of Indonesia indicates 82.51% total classification accuracy and 84.29% average classification rate per input radiograph. The proposed classification method is planned to be implemented as a submodule for an under developing dental based personal identification system.
A method for ECG and capnogram signals classification is proposed based on fuzzy similarity evaluation, where shape exchange algorithm and fuzzy inference are combined. It aims to be applied to quasi-periodic biomedical signals and has low computational cost. On the experiments for atrial fibrillation (AF) classification using two databases: MIT-BIH AF and MITBIH Normal Sinus Rhythm, values of 100%, 94.4%, and 97.6% for sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy respectively, and execution time of 0.6 s are obtained. The proposal is capable of been extended to classify different diseases, from ECG and capnogram signals, such as: Brugada syndrome, AV block, hypoventilation, and asthma among others to be implemented in low computational resources devices.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
