Bern's measures of Masculinity (M), Femininity (F), and the absolute value of her androgyny measure were analyzed by the principal-components method with the Masculinity-Femininity scales from .the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, the California Psychological Inventory, the Omnibus Personality Inventory, and the Need for Heterosexuality scale of the Adjective Check List. Separate analyses for males and females yielded the same three orthogonal components for each sex (a) masculinity-femininity, (b) hetcrosexuality, and (c) androgyny. The three Masculinity-Femininity scales contributed to the first component. Heterosexuality and Bern's M and F scales contributed to the second.. Androgyny and M (for the males) and F (for the females) contributed to the third. The results support Bern's statements about androgyny and show that sex role traits are organized similarly for males and females.

The Eysenck Personality Questionnaire was compared by means of canonical analysis to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and to the Adjective Check List, with samples of 79 and 53 individuals, respectively. The results supported the validity of Eysenck's Extraversion and Neuroticism scales but gave less support for the validity of the Psychoticism scale.

Canonical correlation analysis was used to investigate the overall relationship between the Sixteen Personality Factors Questionnaire (16PF) and the Work Motivation Inventory (WMI). The results indicated that the two instruments shared two independent components which accounted for 30% of their total variance. The results provide some support for the validity of both devices and provide a link between the factorially constructed 16PF and Maslow's personality theory.

The Sixteen Personality Factors Questionnaire (16PF) was administered to 69 subjects. Each subject was asked to rate himself on the 16 personality factors on the 16PF. The 16PF scores and the self-ratings were compared by canonical analysis. Three significant relationships were identified. The relationships primarily involved indices of social interaction from the 16PF and indices of internal traits from the self-ratings.

A new scoring procedure to be used with Spraings' technique for administering the Bender-Gestalt test in a multiple choice format is presented. Scoring weights are used instead of simply scoring each item right or wrong. The evidence presented suggests that this method of scoring would increase the value of Spraings' test in the diagnosis of perceptual deficits.

15 rats approximately 11 mo. old were randomly divided into three groups of 5 each in a randomized design which compared the effects of three different exposures to choice-point stimuli in a T-maze using a paradigm which precluded any response by the subject on Trial 1. Alternation increased with increasing exposure at the choice-point. This finding is supportive of stimulus satiation theory.
