The study assessed teaching performance of 222 student-teachers from the Faculty of Education, Ekiti State University, posted to various secondary schools in Ekiti State for a six-week teaching practice during 2010/2011 academic session. The sample included 119 males, 103 females, 78 (300-Level) and 144 (400-Level) students. Data were collected using Teaching Performance Assessment Form designed by the Faculty of Education, Ekiti State University and analysed using frequency counts, percentages, item-total correlations and t-test comparison, tested at 0.05 level of significance. Results showed satisfactory teaching performance of the student-teachers while gender and previous teaching experience had no significant influence on teaching performance of the student-teachers. It was recommended that supervisors (of teaching practice/raters) should be thoroughly trained on the use of assessment instrument for reliable measurement of student-teachers' teaching performance.
Every social organization such as the school is an embodiment of human beings who interact with one another in one way or the other and having specified roles to perform in line with their assigned duties. However, there is need for effective personnel management so as to avert conflicts and equally manage conflicts when they inevitably occur. This paper examined the management of personnel in the Nigerian school system. The implementation of every policy and programme in the school system requires the contribution of the efforts of members of staff at various levels, but this cannot be achieved unless there is unity of purpose and proper coordination of activities of all the staff by the school head. The success of any organization is not only determined by the quality of personnel available, but how well these human resources are harnessed and coordinated towards realizing the goal of the organization. Among the problems that militate against effective personnel management in the Nigerian school system were disagreement on policy matters, disparity in salary structure, dictation from the political class and violent trade unionism. To this end, there is need for greater competence on the part of the management staff to enhance success.

The results indicated that the gifted students showed mid levels of adjustment problems. In addition, results showed a significant correlation between total scores of adjustment problems and self-efficacy. It showed there are indicated that no differences between self-efficacy and gender, also it is not statistically significant between adjustment problems and variables (gender and class) of the gifted students, but significant difference between interaction class and gender attributed to male and 8th class.
