RESUMO: Objetivo: investigar as queixas auditivas de trabalhadores expostos ao ruído ocupacional em uma indústria cerâmica da cidade de João Pessoa/PB. Métodos: trata-se de um estudo descritivo, observacional e transversal, feito com 83 trabalhadores dessa indústria, com realização de entrevista sobre queixas auditivas. Resultados: dentre os trabalhadores, 14,7% referiram alguma queixa de saúde geral e 56% alegaram ter alguma queixa auditiva relacionada à exposição ao ruído em seu trabalho. As principais queixas auditivas foram desconforto a sons de forte intensidade (30,1%) e zumbido (24%). Houve correlação significante (p < .05) entre o tempo de atuação dos trabalhadores no seu posto de trabalho e as queixas de desconforto a sons de forte intensidade, zumbido, diminuição auditiva e sensação de plenitude auricular. Conclusão: os resultados deste estudo apontam para uma associação direta entre tempo de exposição ao ruído e sintomas auditivos, o que permite concluir que melhores políticas de educação em saúde auditiva podem ser necessárias. Além disso, verificou-se que trabalhadores afirmaram conhecer os riscos do ruído para a saúde, mas não compreendem que os sintomas auditivos que apresentam podem estar associados a este importante risco físico, o que pode dificultar as ações de prevenção dos riscos do ruído.

RESUMO Objetivo: Traduzir e adaptar o questionário Thyroidectomy-Related Voice Questionaire (TVQ) para o português brasileiro. Método: o processo de tradução e adaptação transcultural foi dividido nas seguintes etapas: duas traduções independentes, síntese das traduções, análise por um comitê de especialistas, pré-teste, retradução, síntese final e versão final. O pré-teste foi realizado com 20 pacientes que se encontravam no período pré ou pós-operatório de tireoidectomia. A amostra foi caracterizada por meio de análise descritiva, e a concordância entre os especialistas foi calculada pelo Índice de Validade de Conteúdo por Item (IVC-I) e do questionário (IVC-Q). Resultados: ao longo das etapas do processo de tradução e adaptação, o instrumento necessitou de equivalências do tipo operacional, semântica, idiomática e sintática/gramatical, especialmente após avaliação dos especialistas e da população-alvo. Os IVC-I e IVC-Q foram, em sua maioria, aceitáveis. A retradução mostrou-se equivalente à versão original. A comparação entre as versões original, traduzida e retraduzida possibilitou a elaboração da versão final. Conclusão: o TVQ foi traduzido e adaptado para o português brasileiro, sendo considerado apto para as próximas etapas do processo de validação.
RESUMO: Objetivo: investigar como se dá o processo de inclusão de surdos no cenário do trânsito. Métodos: participaram do estudo 20 sujeitos, divididos em três grupos: G1, composto por 10 surdos; G2 composto por cinco profissionais de uma instituição de referência em assistência a sujeitos com necessidades educacionais específicas e G3 composto por cinco profissionais de um Departamento Estadual de Trânsito. Foram aplicadas entrevistas gravadas em áudio e vídeo, cujas respostas foram analisadas por meio do software Qualiquantisoft e aquelas com sentido semelhante foram reunidas para a construção de discursos do sujeito coletivo, tendo como base o método proposto por Lefèvre e Lefèvre. Resultados: os discursos do sujeito coletivo apontam para dificuldades na acessibilidade de surdos no trânsito e no processo de obtenção e renovação da carteira nacional de habilitação. De uma forma geral, todos os grupos apontaram sugestões como: a necessidade de intérprete para mediar o processo, a capacitação de profissionais para atenderem surdos e a realização da prova teórica em Libras, utilizando recursos de vídeo. Conclusão: embora haja avanços, há inúmeras falhas no que se trata da acessibilidade de pessoas surdas tanto no processo de obtenção/renovação da carteira nacional de habilitação quanto no trânsito. Portanto, é urgente que seja discutida a realidade enfrentada por essa população, visando soluções que possam garantir aos surdos não apenas o acesso ao trânsito, mas também a construção e adequada execução de políticas públicas que venham a lhes fornecer acessibilidade e segurança.
Introdução: O ruído pode trazer consigo outros fatores agravantes, como o tolueno, no ambiente ocupacional. Estudos sugerem que a exposição concomitante a ambos os agentes pode causar alterações auditivas mais severas, do que a apenas um deles. Objetivo: Investigar o impacto da exposição ao ruído e tolueno na saúde auditiva de trabalhadores de uma indústria do ramo de calçados e materiais esportivos. Método: Foram analisados os dados audiométricos de 729 trabalhadores de uma indústria calçadista e de materiais esportivos, que possui Programa de Prevenção de Perdas Auditivas (PPPA) implantado e em execução, com três grupos de trabalhadores: (1) expostos ao ruído e ao tolueno, (2) expostos apenas ao ruído e (3) não expostos. Realizou-se cruzamento entre as variáveis, tipo e tempo de exposição aos agentes e sexo. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética do Hospital Universitário Lauro Wanderley sob parecer nº 2.164.722. Resultados: Não foi encontrada relação estatisticamente significativa entre a média dos limiares auditivos e os grupos estudados. Entre os trabalhadores expostos, houve correlação positiva, porém desprezível, entre o tempo e os limiares auditivos, sendo este último significativamente maior, nos indivíduos do sexo masculino. Conclusão: Na indústria estudada, não foram identificadas diferenças significativas na audição de trabalhadores expostos apenas a ruído, expostos a ruído e tolueno e não expostos.
