As the computer technology evolves, traditional card games are shifting into more interesting ones by adapting Ubiquitous technology. In this paper, we present an effective game framework using various computer technology including RFID and 3D graphics. The user can be convenient and fun to play games with the proposed framework. Especially, we focus on game immersion. The game card is automatically recognized by the RFID reader and 3-D graphical battle scene is presented on the table screen. We performed surveys on a table card games and the result showed that the proposed framework is more effective than traditional card game.Since RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology was appeared, hardware and software with RFID is widely used across all industries including transportation, physical distribution, product tracking, asset tracking and logistics [1]. Recently, RFID technology is used in entertainment related fields [2,3,4,5,6,7,8]. For example, in La Fuga game, players try to escape from a prison maze using a wristband and PDA which has embedded RFID tag. The large prison can provide the capacity of 300 players, at the same time. Each player can enjoy the thrill solving various quizzes and avoiding obstacles in a prison maze [2]. "Smart Playing Cards"[3] is a ubiquitous computing game that augments the classical card game Whist with a RFID technology. It provides functionalities like score counting, winner determination, cheating alarm, and playing hints while retaining the look and feel and social interactions of the classical game. Tjass[4] extends card game playing with computational aids in a non intrusive and transparent way to support both beginners and expert players and lead them towards a more elevated and agreeable gaming experience. It has appeared to be a suitable solution for beginners to learn card games in real context and to take decisions by their own, without disturbing the other players, who can't see the learner's cards. TCG(Trading Card Game) means a game method that exchanging the cards and it also called collectible card game or customizable card game [9]. Since the TCG provide with lots of cards, users can use various strategy and tactics. During a game, players usually take turns playing cards and performing game-related actions. The order and titles of these steps vary between different game systems. Usually a typical TCG follows five functionalities to play game; Restore, Draw cards, Play cards, Conflict, and Discard cards. Figure 1 shows one of the TCG examples. As you can see Figure 1, the card contains much information such as power of the item, story, and magic.
Figure 1. Trading Card Game exampleIn this paper, we propose a novel trading card game that exploiting RFID technology and 3D graphics. The main contribution is tackling traditional card game problems on that point of convenience and immersion. Our primary goal is to provide a convenient game environment for game users using automatic card recognition mechanism by RFID tag embedded in game card. We adapt the RFID t...
