A saúde do trabalhador é tema central em pesquisas de saúde pública, entretanto se deve considerar a especificidade das atividades exercidas. Objetiva-se analisar a saúde dos trabalhadores da atividade agrícola no Brasil, que possuem ocupação também agrícola ou não agrícola, por meio da autopercepção de saúde e morbidades referidas. Utilizou-se a Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD 2008), incorporando as informações do plano amostral complexo. Selecionaram-se trabalhadores da atividade agrícola com 18 anos ou mais, estratificando em: os que possuíam ocupação agrícola e não agrícola. Foi realizada regressão logística para autopercepção de saúde e calculadas as razões de chances para as morbidades referidas. A ocupação agrícola diminui a chance de referir saúde como Boa e aumenta a chance de referir doença de coluna/costas, hipertensão arterial e artrite/reumatismo. Os trabalhadores com ocupação agrícola apresentam mais morbidades referidas e piores condições de vida. A autopercepção de saúde dos trabalhadores, em geral, foi melhor entre os ocupados não agrícolas.

A utilização de consultas médicas é influenciada por determinantes, como necessidades de saúde e características dos serviços, que dependem se o ambiente é urbano ou rural. Objetiva-se estimar a proporção de consulta ao médico nos últimos 12 meses dos indivíduos que referiram ou não hipertensão arterial sistêmica (HAS), residentes em área urbana e rural, e analisar os padrões de utilização de consulta e associações. Trata-se de um estudo seccional, utilizando a PNAD 2008. Executaram-se regressões logísticas para obter odds ratios (OR's), brutas e ajustadas, por HAS autorreferida e situação do domicílio. Consultaram o médico 70,6% dos adultos brasileiros. Foi encontrada uma associação entre HAS e consulta ao médico de 3,63 (OR) maior na área urbana. A chance de consulta ao médico foi maior entre as mulheres, os que utilizam medicamentos contínuos, os que possuem plano de saúde ou tiveram financiamento no último atendimento, os que referiram alguma morbidade ou limitação na mobilidade e entre os que referiram estado de saúde ruim, em todos os estratos. A análise multivariada modificou as associações de todas as variáveis. Diferenças nas duas áreas sugerem que políticas de acesso devem ser implantadas, com o objetivo de reduzir iniquidades.

Resumo: O presente artigo pretende trabalhar com o conceito de clínica psicológica e tenta definir esse campo de atuação do psicólogo através de uma análise histórica do surgimento dessa prática e de uma reflexão sobre os limites do modelo de clínica como prática individual de consultório, em contraposição a um modelo de clínica chamada social, que sustenta novas atuações no campo da Psicologia, no Brasil. Assim, iremos, primeiramente, buscar as origens etimológicas, históricas e reflexivas do termo clínica. Em seguida, pretendemos refletir sobre as articulações entre a Psicologia e o individualismo moderno, e, ainda, sobre os limites da clínica entendida como prática liberal, privada e individualizante. Por fim, defenderemos, para além da cisão entre clínica e política, presente no modelo tradicional, uma definição de clínica social como prática ética e política das intervenções, comprometida com a promoção da saúde e engajada na realidade social brasileira. Palavras-chave: Psicologia clínica, individualismo, escuta, clínica social.Abstract: This article intends to work with the clinical psychological concept trying to define the psychologist field across a historical analysis of the beginning of this practice and a reflection about the model limits of clinic as an individual practice at the office, in opposite to a model of clinic called social, that supports new performances on the Psychology field in Brazil. First, we will look for the etymological, historical and reflexive origins of the term clinic. Then, we intend to reflect about the articulations between Psychology and the modern individualism and the limits of the clinic understood as a liberal and private practice. In the end, we will defend beyond the division between clinic and politics, in the tradicional model, a definition of social clinic as a political and ethical position of interventions engaged with the promotion of health and with the Brazilian social reality.

Objective: Current acceptability, barriers to use, and clinical/teaching practices of Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) among Brazilian dentists were investigated. Material and Methods: A Google forms questionnaire was sent to dentists (n=10,500) to collect information about the use of SDF and the dentists' workplace, experience, specialty, and city of practice. A logistic regression model was performed. Results: From 409 respondents, 13.2% used SDF. Working at universities increased the use of SDF by 2.29 times (p=0.018) compared to private offices. Each training year, the chance of SDF usage increased by 3% (p=0.008). Pediatric dentists are more likely to use SDF (OR=6.76, p<0.001). There is no association between SDF usage and the city of practice. The majority (75.9%) indicated SDF for noncompliant patients. Dentists (75.9%) reported the exclusive use in deciduous teeth, while 24.1% also use in permanent teeth. The main barrier for non-users was a lack of knowledge (58.3%), while for users, tooth staining (90.7%) and parental acceptance (64.8%) were the complaints. Conclusion: The Silver Diamine Fluoride is not a common product used by the dentists from RJ. Its clinical applicability should be further disseminated; thus, lack of scientific knowledge would cease to be a problem in the use of SDF to arrest caries lesions.

In this work, the transition between diffusion-limited and ballistic aggregation models was revisited using a model in which biased random walks simulate the particle trajectories. The bias is controlled by a parameter λ, which assumes the value λ = 0 (1) for ballistic (diffusion-limited) aggregation model. Patterns growing from a single seed were considered. In order to simulate large clusters, a new efficient algorithm was developed. For λ = 0, the patterns are fractal on the small length scales, but homogeneous on the large ones. We evaluated the mean density of particles ρ in the region defined by a circle of radius r centered at the initial seed. As a function of r, ρ reaches the asymptotic value ρ0(λ) following a power law ρ = ρ0 + Ar −γ with a universal exponent γ = 0.46(2), independent of λ. The asymptotic value has the behavior ρ0 ∼ |1 − λ| β , where β = 0.26(1). The characteristic crossover length that determines the transition from DLA-to BA-like scaling regimes is given by ξ ∼ |1 − λ| −ν , where ν = 0.61(1), while the cluster mass at the crossover follows a power law M ξ ∼ |1 − λ| −α , where α = 0.97(2). We deduce the scaling relations β = νγ and β = 2ν − α between these exponents.
