Beide Reaktionen verlaufen autokatalytisch. S U M M -4 RY:The kinetics of the autoxidation of 2,3-dimethylbutadiene(1,3) yielding polymeric peroxides have been investigated and compared with the spontaneous autoxidation of the Me-ester of 10,12-octadecadienoic acid. Both reactions are shown to be of autocatalytical character: the rate of autoxidation is proportional to the square root of mole O,/mole dienc. The peroxides split into radicals starting autoxidation chains in a monomolecuIar manner. The energies d activation have been determined. The influences of azoisobutyronitrile, ascaridole, di-tert.-butylpcroxide and copper salt of a-ethylcaproic acid on the autoxidation of the Me-ester of 10,12-octadecadienoic acid have been investigated. The result of all is that polymeric peroxides are formed.
S U M M A R Y :The autoxydation of 2,3-dimethylbutadien yields a polymer peroxyd. Dimethylbutadien and oxygen are found to be linked by 1,Zcopolymerisation mainly. Thermal decom. position of the polymer peroxyd in suspension o r dilution delivers formaldehyd and isopropenylmethylketon. Monomeric rlimethylbutadienperoxyd could not be isolated.
S U M M A R Y :In the polymerization of styrene and dimethyl butadiene t,3 initiated by Fe2+ redox systems the peroxidal compound (diacyl peroxide) i a permanently attached to the polymer. It is shown, that the nnmber of incorporated, marked terminal groups in the polymerisation of styrene with p-hromohenzoylperoxide-Fe3+ benzoate-henzome is the same as in the peroxidal polymerization with p-bromobenzoyl peroxide. This evidence points to assumtug that the peroxidal polymerization is also initiated by radicals whi& are formed by a redo& reaction between peroxide and monomer. In case of the p d r m t r dimethyl butadiene all marked terminal groups which are formed in the Fez+ redoi ratalized polymerization, are indicated to be ester groups.Bei der peroxydischen Polymerisation von Styr014 und anderen Vinyl-1 6.
