Compreendemos que a formação continuada de professores, seja de educação básica ou de nível superior, é um exercício de reflexão crítica sobre a prática docente. Esta prática, por sua vez, especialmente quando observada sob o olhar da complexidade – “complexus: o que é tecido junto” – (MORIN, 2011, p.13), mostra-se também como um campo de largas possibilidades para a pesquisa científica, para adensamentos teóricos acerca do que já se sabe assim como para a abertura de novos focos de reflexões, pois dela emergem questões que são importantes para o entendimento de muitos pressupostos e consequências do ato de educar.
A técnica de restauração semi-direta é um procedimento indicado em casos de destruições coronárias extensas, em que toda a confecção da restauração é executada numa única sessão clínica, diminuindo o tempo clínico. Dentre as vantagens, a confecção feita fora do meio bucal e dentro do consultório em ambiente controlado sem interferência da saliva, garante melhor propriedade do material restaurador e elimina a necessidade de envolvimento com o técnico de prótese dentária. Este trabalho descreve a sequência clínica para confecção de uma restauração semi-direta em resina composta em dente posterior. Paciente compareceu à clínica odontológica para confecção de restauração fraturada. Após análise clínica e radiográfica, foi constatado a presença de uma restauração insatisfatória com amálgama Classe II, visando um tratamento funcional, rápido e estético foi indicado a técnica de restauração semi-direta. Para isso foi realizado preparo, moldagem com alginato, obtenção de modelo imediato com silicona própria, confecção da restauração em resina composta nanohíbridas, prova em boca, isolamento absoluto para cimentação (cimento resinoso dual), ajustes e polimento. Com a restauração finalizada, foi constatado que além de devolver função e estética, a técnica proporcionou um tratamento confortável ao paciente e custos reduzidos.
