Resumo: Nesta revisão bibliográfica são apresentadas os diferentes tipos de controles empregados na erradicação do carrapato bovino que para se desenvolver, precisa passar uma fase de sua vida nos animais.É importante saber que o carrapato dos bovinos é diferente do carrapato dos eqüinos. Neste texto será discutido apenas o carrapato comum dos bovinos (Boophilus microplus), principalmente dos bovinos de leite, cuja maneira de combate é diferente do que é feito para bovinos de corte. A importância dos carrapatos para a criação, é que eles prejudicam os animais ao sugarem o sangue e transmitirem os parasitas que causam a Tristeza Parasitária, Piroplasmose ou Doença do carrapato. Além desses dois fatores, causam outros prejuízos, como a irritação e as perfurações no couro.

It is important to know that the carrapato of the bovines is different of the cattle tick of the equines. In this text the common cattle tick of the bovines will be argued only (Boophilus microplus), mainly of the milk bovines, whose way of combat is different of that it is made for cut bovines. The importance of the cattle tick for the creation, is that they harm the animals when sucking the blood and to transmit the parasites that cause the Parasitic Sadness, Piroplasmose or Doença of the carrapato. Beyond these two factors, they cause other damages, as the irritation and the perforations in the leather.
