Anti-acetylcholinesterase activities of physostigmine, physovenine, Na-norphysostigmine, geneserine and eseramine have been investigated itz vifro using erythrocyte acetylcholinesterase. The former three bases show comparable activities whereas geneserine and eseramine are inactive under the same experimental conditions. The biologically active form of these bases is discussed in light of these enzyme inhibitory studies.
