As a part of their digital transformation, municipalities across Europe have taken initiatives to support Open Data platforms and provide services leveraging on data. This challenges the traditional business driven IT strategy promoted by several Enterprise Architecture methodologies, which are designed to operate within a single enterprise that has a complete overview of its data and ICT systems. We envisage scenarios where public and private collaborative networks provide value added services to its citizens by leveraging on data. In this paper, we propose an Enterprise Architecture Framework for Cities to support them maneuvre smartly within their data space to create value added services through a variety of collaborative networks or Virtual Enterprises that bridge organisational boundaries. The novel elements of this Enterprise Architecture Framework are a DataxChange, the Value-Added Services and Virtual Enterprise layers. This work has been conducted within the EU H2020 Smart City project +CityxChange.
Abstract. Telecommunication services are widespread and subject today to tensions on a competitive market. Telecommunication service design is more and more software oriented. To reduce time to market and cost of services, a service designer better need to simulate and evaluate his design earlier. The approach proposed in this paper is to reduce the abstraction gap between modeling and simulation phases using model transformation. But manual transformations are so far time consuming and error prone. As a trustworthy solution, model based techniques and associated transformations permit to systematically link service models with simulation phase before realization. We thus propose as a first contribution a meta-model dedicated to concepts of IP Multimedia Subsystem core network as a case study. Our meta-model constrains and defines such network entities to be used in the code generation, which is our second contribution. The implementation of a video conference service permits to illustrate our workbench.
Abstract. Early verification of Telecom Services (TS) at the design time helps an enterprise to avoid wasting of implementation cost and time. Simulation provides the designer with helpful feedbacks on TS design leaving the implementation and installation costs behind. Our objective in this paper is to present our approach to obtain valuable feedbacks from network simulators and relate them to the information from high abstract scenario of a TS. Relying on Model Driven Engineering discipline and Enterprise Architecture standard, we propose to associate measurement elements with the design ones of different abstraction levels. We implement a model transformation to generate automatically the configurations for NS-3 simulator as a test-bed for our case studies. We illustrate our approach with a video conference example, presenting the different abstract levels and their relationship with measurements.
International audienceIn order to reduce the time to market and improve the qualities during the service construction activities, we provide the designers with integrated tools that help them to construct services. They are able to evaluate their designs earlier according to functional, performance non-functional, and QoS requirements. The contribution of this paper is concerned with representing the different viewpoints of a design model in the simulation scenario through code generation. The main benefits of our approach based on separation of concerns are to better manage the complexity of the design and to improve the fine-tuning level of simulation scenarios. We illustrate our approach with a video conference service relying on the IP Multimedia Subsystem platform
International audienceService Creation Environments facilitate the creationof complex services and play a major role in the softwareindustry. In this context, we aim at developing a domainspecificframework (networking domain) that uses a chain ofexisting ”off-the-shelf” tools that are integrated together fromthe design phase to the verification activities. In this paper, wepropose a new meta-model that extends ArchiMate to providea domain-specific modeling language concerning the Deep SeaObservatories (DSO). We instantiate, as a case study, DSOmodel with identification and localization functions from thislanguage, and apply it to our framework that relies on an IMSplatform to evaluate the service model. These functions can beorchestrated with other services (e.g. military or civil reaction)or interconnected with other SOSystems. On the one hand, thisillustrates our approach in relying on Enterprise Architecture(EA) framework that respects: multiple-views, perspectives ofstakeholders, and domain specificities. On the other hand, itshows the reusability of our framework by changing applicationsfrom different domains: Video Conference as a Telecom Service, and Localizations for DSO
