A unified and continuous national vertical network is the back-bone for geodesy, cartography, civil engineering and global positioning. International institutions are working to reach homogenous and unified vertical datum all around the globe. Levelling evaluation on the border between Latvia and Lithuania is of particular interest. Connection between vertical networks is made in three places, so connecting lines construct the two first order levelling loops. A joined loop adjustment produces a good basis for analysis and evaluation of height connection between Latvia and Lithuania not only as neighbouring countries but also as parties to the EVRS.
Abstract:The NKG 2008 GPS campaign was carried out in September 28 -October 4, 2008. The purpose was to establish a common reference frame in the NordicBaltic-Arctic region, and to improve and update the transformations from the latest global ITRF reference frame to the national ETRS89 realizations of the Nordic/Baltic countries. Postglacial rebound in the Fennoscandian area causes intraplate deformations up to about 10 mm/yr to the Eurasian tectonic plate which need to be taken into account in order to reach centimetre level accuracies in the transformations. We discuss some possible alternatives and present the most applicable transformation strategy. The selected transformation utilizes the de facto transformation recommended by the EUREF but includes additional intraplate corrections and a new common Nordic-Baltic reference frame to serve the requirements of the Nordic/Baltic countries. To correct for the intraplate deformations in the Nordic-Baltic area we have used the common Nordic deformation model NKG RF03vel. The new common reference frame, NKG ETRF00, was aligned to ETRF2000 at epoch 2000.0 in order to be close to the national ETRS89 realizations and to coincide with the land uplift epoch of the national height systems. We present here the realization of the NKG ETRF00 and transformation formulae together with the parameters to transform from global ITRF coordinates to Nordic/Baltic realizations of the ETRS89.
LKS-92 is Latvian geodetic coordinate system used as an EUREF89 realization in Latvia. LKS-92 is official coordinate system for procuring of essential geospatial data. For aeronautical and other purposes ITRF2000 is used in publication of geospatial data. Research is done to obtain transformation parameters from LKS-92 realization epoch 1992.75 through LatPos to ITRF2000 epoch 2000.00. Valuation of two different coordinate adjustment strategies and accuracy of parameters is done. Results of research could be used for transformation from LKS-92 to ITRF2000 for all kind of geospatial data.
Geodetic data and information is used for many applications: land cadastre, topography, civil engineering, scientifically, but lately aeronautical community start to used not only geodetic data (coordinates, height, magnetic variation, distance, bearing), but also information about them-metadata and evidence of integrity. Geodetic data and information in aero navigation is used for further calculation and design of movement for aircraft and safety areas in space, and on the ground. A specialized agency of the United Nations, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) was created in 1944 to promote the safe and orderly development of international civil aviation throughout the world. It sets standards and regulations necessary for aviation safety, security, efficiency and regularity, as well as for aviation environmental protection. ICAO set down minimum geodetic data what is needed for aviation to design flight management in sky and on the ground. All data must satisfy quality requirements in accuracy, resolution and integrity. European Union (EU) adopted regulation No 73/2010 of 26 January 2010 laying down requirements on the quality of aeronautical data and aeronautical information for the single European sky. To support EU EUROCONTROL developed specifications to clarified metadata needed. Research focus on development a management system for full life cycle of the geodetic data, specially requirements to geodetic data base and evidence of integrity.
