Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVE) system plays important role in providing highly skilled workforce to fulfill the needs of industries. An empirical research of TVE system is necessary to identify effective TVE system to successfully equip students with technical skills that would enable them to fulfill the current work demands and professional expectations. The objective of this paper is to present the findings of TVE system implementation in one of the technical training institution in Malaysia. Research sample has been selected using a simple random method from the third year students. A total of 162 students participated in this research. The result shows that mean score for overall employability skills was quite high. Two aspects of the employability skills, namely, thinking skills and resource management competence and system & technology competence were slightly lower than the mean score. Respondents have slightly higher than the mean scores on basic informational competence interpersonal competence. The mean score of personal quality is the highest among all the aspects of variables of employability skills.
Pendidikan kejuruan diyakini memiliki konstribusi yang besar bagi perkembangan masyarakat dan peningkatan ekonomi suatu negara. Daya saing negara bergantung banyak pada tenaga kerja yang memilik pengetahuan dan keterampilan, karena mereka akan meningkatkan efisiensi dan nilai tambah produksi. Pendidikan dan latihan kejuruan pada hakekat adalah sebagai tempat untuk menyiapkan tenaga kerja berpengetahuan, berketerampilan, dan berkepribadian bagi memenuhi harapan dunia kerja dan industri. Tetapi kondisi riil menunjukkan banyak lulusan pendidikan kejuruan yang tidak memperoleh kerja, bahkan mereka yang telah bekerjapun menghadapi masalah keterampilan. Bekal pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang mereka miliki tidak cukup untuk dapat sustain dalam lingkungan kerja. Hal itu salah satunya disebabkan karena tenaga kerja tidak memiliki employability skills yang cukup seperti permintaan dunia kerja. Untuk itu, lembaga pendidikan kejuruan diharapkan mengantisipasi dengan tepat perkembangan yang terjadi di dunia kerja melalui berbagai pendekatan pembelajaran agar lebih fleksibel untuk merespon permintaan dunia kerja yang berubah dengan cepat. It is believed that vocational education makes particular contribution on Indonesian concerning economics development. A competitiveness of the nation depends on quality of human resource in term of knowledge, skills, attitude. Vocational education and training basically is provided for preparing youth to have knowledge, skills, and characteristics to meet the requirements of work place. However, in fact Vocational High School leavers are unemployed, and the employed even face skills problems. Their knowledges, skills, and attitudes are under standard of work place requirements and incapable of sustaining hie/her current position in the work place. One of the reasons is because they don’t have enough employability skills to fulfil work place requirements. Therefore, vocational training institutions are required to anticipate firmly to developing the work place by employing learning strategies in order to have flexibilty due to a rapid changing of work place requirements.
In the 2017, Indonesia starts a new policy on admission student, namely the admission student through zoning. The policy came from the Minister, he aimed student get closer to school and to make all school became favorite. It purposes acceleration for increasing quality of education in Indonesia. The strategy based on equitable distribution of student population and the capacity of school, it's a long term strategy. This research used qualitative method, it begun from issues identification, secondary data analysis from others research, monitoring and evaluation, mass media, and online media. The research aims are to identification the fact of policy implementation, to know the impact of the policy on stakeholders, to understand precisely and affirmative policy. The result of this research, we found that the policy changed the paradigm of education policy perceptive, especially on stakeholders’ perception in many aspects. The essence of the regulation that was accommodated by the Minister of Education and Culture leds to its diverse implementation of regulation in the region because gave a space of flexibility for district to adopt the regulation that made because of geographic, demography and spatial matter. School had positive response because more transparence, school has negative response like smart student cannot go to a good school because not a part of zone, constraints and problems of implementation such faking family card and resistance from parent. At the last, the discussion purposed the fit model of implementation policy on admission student and the recommendations
Naturally, not all researchers can develop their own software to search for academic publications from digital libraries. Nevertheless, at several stages of their research, they will need to search digital libraries for relevant scientific publications and bibliometric information. There are typically two approaches used by researchers to search for scientific publications: (i) using Google Scholar search, or (ii) using publication metadata available from several sources, such as CrossRef and publishers. However, in developing countries like Indonesia, neither option provided users with complete information, since (i) Google Scholar does not provide bibliometric details, and (ii) complete bibliometric information from other sources is often not available due to incomplete data (e.g., CrossRef) or the necessity to pay a subscription fee (e.g., Springer and Elsevier). The development of Search Engine for Research Articles (SEforRA) is a solution to this issue which provides researchers with bibliometricready publication metadata. SEforRA extracts and processes data from CrossRef, publishers, and other sources to provide an integrated platform for researchers to search and retrieve publication metadata, which is ready to use further in their research. The purpose of this paper is to present findings of employability skills expected by Malaysian employers when hiring new graduates. Data were collected by analyzing the appointment section of Saturday issues of a major newspaper in Malaysia. The analysis showed 29 employability skills that were repeatedly mentioned by many employers.
