Carpal tunnel syndrome is an eddy condition where the middle nerve is compressed in the wrist which results in parasthesia, numbness and muscle weakness in the hand. One nactor in the increasing number on carpal tunnel syndrome complaints is the outbreak on activities that use the hands especially those that carry out long periods on time. based on a preliminary study on 10 ulos weavers, there were 7 ulos weavers who had Carpal tunnel syndrome complaints in the norm on hand pain, tingling and numbness in the hands. The purpose on this study was to determine the relationship on work tenure and work attitude with complaints on carpal tunnel syndrome in ulos weaver workers at the Galery Ulos Sianipar Medan. The method in this study is an analytic observer research method with a cross sectional research approach. The respondents on this study are the ulos weavers in the Galery Ulos Sianipar Medan. Research instruments in the norm on questionnaires and measurement on phalen test data were analyzed by chi-square test. Based on the results on the study, the majority on ulos weavers experienced complaints on carpal tunnel syndrome as many as 34 people (65.4%). In this study it was nound that there was a relationship between work period (p = 0.003<0.05) with complaints on carpal tunnel syndrome, while work attitude (p = 0.399 >0.05) had no relationship with complaints on carpal tunnel syndrome. Suggestions nor ulos weaver workers are expected to take regular breaks by bending and straightening hands nor 3-5 minutes to reduce the risk on carpal tunnel syndrome
Myofascial trigger point syndrome is a hypersensitive pain point in the tightened area that can cause local pain, if pressed it will give spesific, and the muscle that has the most myofascial trigger point syndrome is the upper trapezius. Purpose: This study is to find aims to determine the effect of ischemic compression and contract relax stretching on the intensity of myofascial trigger point syndrome upper trapezius muscle in Nurse station (Ns) administration employees at Granmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2019. This type of research is a type of pure experimental research using one group pre and post test design research, conducted at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam hospital. The population and sample used in this study were 13 people. The statistical test of the hypothesis with the t test obtained p- value α < (0.001 >0,05). Ther is the effect of fiving ischemic compression and contract relax stretching to the intensity of myofascial pain trigger point syndrome upper trapezius muscle in Nurse station (Ns) administration employees in Granmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2019. The researcher recommends that the next researcher add a longer sample size and research time so that the result of the research obtained are more maximal.
The aging process is one of the life cycles experienced by every human being. However, it is a process of slowly diminishing the ability of body tissues to maintain normal structure and function. Increasing one's age has an effect on decreasing balance function. Otago Exercise and Gaze Stability Exercise to improve balance in the elderly. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental approach with a research design using pre-test and post-test. Determination of the number using purposive sampling method and obtained a sample of 14 people. Data collection was carried out by direct interviews using observation sheets. The independent variable in this study was the Otago Exercise and Gaze Stability Exercise, while the dependent variable was balance. Balance assessment using TUG> 12 seconds experienced a balance of 14 people. Statistical test using wilcoxon signed ranked test with α = 0.05. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant effect between giving Otago Exercise and Gaze Stability Exercise on the balance of the elderly, with a p value (0.001≤0.005). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect between the provision of Otago Exercise and Gaze Stability Exercise on the balance of the elderly. The advice that can be given is that it is hoped that the patient should always do exercises to maintain body balance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
