Introdução. A COVID-19 é uma doença provocada pela infecção de um beta-coronavírus conhecido como SARS-CoV-2, o qual desencadeia diversas manifestações relacionadas com vários sistemas orgânicos. Nesse contexto, complicações neurológicas foram descritas na literatura, as quais associaram vários distúrbios neurológicos com a infecção pelo SARS-CoV-2. Objetivo. Deste modo, o objetivo do presente estudo consistiu em fazer uma pequena revisão sistemática, correlacionando a COVID-19 com neuropatologias neurodegenerativas. Método. Foram utilizadas as seguintes bases de dados: PUBMED, RIMA e LILACS. Os descritores selecionados foram encontrados no dicionário Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS) e Medical Subject Heading Terms (MeSH). Com isso, selecionou-se os seguintes: (COVID-19 OR SARS-CoV-2) AND (NEURODEGENERATION OR NEUROLOGIC COMPLICATIONS). Foram lidos os títulos e resumos de todos os pré-selecionados e retirados os que não se enquadravam no estilo metodológico. Excluiu-se dos achados: revisões sistemáticas com meta-análise, revisões sistemáticas com meta-síntese, e cartas. Vários motivos levaram a exclusão dos artigos, como: não causalidade entre o SARS-CoV-2 e patologias neurológicas e a preexistência de condições neurodegenerativas nos indivíduos. Resultados. Os principais achados clínicos foram: Síndrome de Guillain-Barré, Acidente Vascular Cerebral, encefalopatias, hemorragias intracranianas, anosmia e algesia. Conclusão. Conclui-se, com a revisão, que os sintomas proporcionados pela COVID-19 podem variar e que nos casos mais graves, geram complicações neurodegenerativas. É cabível ressaltar que são necessárias mais investigações acerca da temática para ratificar a relação entre neurodegeneração e infecção por coronavírus.
RESUMO Introdução: O SARS-CoV-2 surgiu em dezembro de 2019 e a doença ocasionada por ele, a COVID-19, tornou-se uma pandemia, pois possui elevada transmissibilidade e alta mobilidade internacional. Por isso, o desenvolvimento das vacinas é ferramenta crucial para o seu combate. Nesse sentido, o presente artigo objetiva compilar informações sobre o desenvolvimento e eficácia das vacinas contra COVID-19. Métodos: Utilizaram-se as bases de dados PubMed, BVS e SciELO. As buscas foram realizadas utilizando as seguintes estratégias: na PubMed e na BVS, "(COVID-19 OR SARS-CoV-2) AND (VACCINES) AND (EFFICACY)" e "(COVID-19 OR SARS-CoV-2) AND (VACCINES) AND (MECHANISM OF ACTION)"; na SciELO, "(COVID-19 OR SARS-CoV-2) AND (VACINAS)". Foram incluídos artigos originais nas línguas inglesa, portuguesa e espanhola, e excluídos artigos de revisão, cartas e editoriais. Resultados e discussão: 28 artigos foram incluídos, os quais abordavam sobre 13 vacinas: BNT162b1, BNT162b2, NVX-CoV2373, Ad5-NCoV, BBIBP-CorV, SARS-CoV-2 (cepa WIV04) inativada, ChAdOx1 nCoV-19/AZD1222, mRNA-1273, BBV152, PiCoVacc, ZF2001, Ad26.COV2.S e Gam-COVID-Vac. Foram apresentados e discutidos os mecanismos de ação das vacinas, os seus desenvolvimentos e os resultados dos estudos. Conclusão: Concluise que os dados apresentados são extremamente positivos para o enfrentamento da pandemia da COVID-19. Sendo assim, é importante que tais informações cheguem à comunidade científica e à população constantemente e, para isso, novos trabalhos de revisão como este urgem para compilar e facilitar o acesso a esses dados.
Introdução. A neuralgia do trigêmeo é uma dor orofacial aguda e paroxística limitada a uma ou mais divisões do V nervo craniano com etiologia, em geral, pouco conhecida. Objetivo. Avaliar os tratamentos farmacológicos tradicionais e apresentar as novas alternativas atualmente difundidas. Método. Revisão de literatura em bases de dados limitada a artigos recentes publicados a partir de 2010. Resultados. 29 artigos foram incluídos, nos quais os antiepiléticos se revelam como principal farmacoterapia. Já como via alternativa vem se destacando a toxina botulínica, a lidocaína e a calcitonina. Discussão. As terapias convencionais apresentam efeitos adversos que muitas vezes são responsáveis pelo insucesso do tratamento, por isso novas vias farmacoterápicas são exploradas com o intuito de contornar os obstáculos das terapias convencionais. Conclusão. A individualidade do paciente e a relação risco-benefício são fatores que carecem de atenção para o sucesso e adesão do paciente ao tratamento.
A revisão sistemática de literatura tornou-se uma ferramenta útil, que permite o pesquisador compilar resultados de busca, da forma mais pragmática possível, diante da vasta literatura sobre o tema que deseja discorrer. Dessa forma, esse material vem de encontro as necessidades de autores, revisores, editores de periódicos e, principalmente, pesquisadores iniciantes que desejam reunir, de forma sistemática, o que vem sendo publicado sobre um respectivo tema em sua área de pesquisa e atuação, sendo um manual, o mais completo possível, sobre revisão sistemática de literatura em uma abordagem prática e fácil de ser reproduzida.
