Objetivos: investigar as internações por doenças respiratórias no Triângulo Mineiro (Minas Gerais, Brasil), discutindo-as no contexto da atenção em saúde, e a pandemia de COVID-19. Métodos: estudo epidemiológico, descritivo e quantitativo sobre as doenças do aparelho respiratório nas macrorregiões de saúde Triângulo do Norte e Triângulo do Sul, de janeiro de 2014 a dezembro de 2019. Foram utilizados dados provenientes do Sistema de Informação Hospitalar do Sistema Único de Saúde (SIH/SUS), disponíveis no endereço eletrônico do Departamento de Informática do SUS (DATASUS). Os dados foram apresentados por números absolutos, frequência relativa e medidas de tendência central. Resultados: nesse período, houve 76.745 internações por doenças do aparelho respiratório no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), com aspecto crescente desde 2018. As cidades de Uberlândia e Uberaba somam juntas quase metade desse total. Com os serviços hospitalares e profissionais foram gastos, aproximadamente, 90 milhões de reais. As faixas etárias cuja internação foi mais frequente foram a de 1 a 4 anos e a de 80 anos ou mais. As maiores frequências de óbitos concentraram-se no segundo e terceiro trimestre do ano e entre os indivíduos acima de 60 anos. Conclusões: O contexto caótico e oneroso ao SUS, decorrente das internações por doenças respiratórias, agravar-se-á ao se somar ao cenário de pandemia por COVID-19. Por isso, é imperiosa a prevenção dos fatores de risco e a promoção de saúde por meio da melhora na atenção primária em saúde, bem como a ampliação e a reorganização da rede hospitalar.
Resumo: Introdução: Diante da pandemia da Covid-19, os(as) estudantes de Medicina tornaram-se ainda mais fragilizados(as) e vulnerabilizados(as) pelo contexto de isolamento social, uma vez que tiveram suas rotinas alteradas. Assim, a Associação Atlética Acadêmica Marcel Resende Davi (AAAMRD), visando cumprir com a sua responsabilidade social de promoção da saúde, buscou incentivar a prática desportiva ao valorizar esse hábito em prol do bem-estar físico e mental dos(as) estudantes. Desse modo, este artigo objetiva relatar a experiência da atlética com a realização de um desafio esportivo virtual entre suas equipes. Relato de experiência: O desafio foi elaborado e executado remotamente para 112 atletas de 14 equipes esportivas. Nos grupos de WhatsApp®, particulares de cada time, os(as) atletas deveriam enviar mídias dos exercícios físicos realizados e contabilizá-los em uma lista. Ressalta-se que foram disponibilizados treinos nas redes sociais da atlética, em parceria com profissional capacitado, como forma de proporcionar treinos seguros. Ao final das 11 semanas de desafio, as três melhores equipes foram premiadas. Aplicou-se também um formulário de feedback para verificar a efetividade da ação. Discussão: A tecnologia, importante aliada na organização do desafio, permitiu que a promoção da saúde ocorresse remotamente, respeitando o distanciamento social. Ao estimular a constância de treinos, a atlética contribuiu para a manutenção de parte da rotina dos(as) graduandos(as), prejudicada pelo contexto pandêmico. Além disso, o espírito de coletividade e a interação entre os(as) atletas dentro dos grupos contribuíram para que esse distanciamento não fosse total, formando uma rede de apoio ao compartilharem também seus medos, inseguranças e saudades. Conclusão: Os resultados alcançados com o desafio e os feedbacks positivos confirmaram a efetividade da promoção da saúde proposta pela AAAMRD. Ademais, em conformidade com as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais e apesar do momento adverso, a instituição mostrou-se presente na formação pessoal e profissional dos(as) estudantes.
Resumo: Introdução: Historicamente, a comunidade LGBT+ enfrenta obstáculos estruturais que interferem na garantia da cidadania plena. Com a pandemia da Covid-19, observa-se que a vulnerabilidade individual da população LGBT+ tornou-se ainda mais intensa e explícita. Diante disso, o presente relato de experiência apresenta e analisa criticamente uma ação de estudantes de Medicina que buscaram promover a representatividade e uma rede de cuidado/apoio e solidariedade entre os(as) estudantes LGBT+ no contexto da pandemia. Relato de experiência: Este relato descreve a construção de um vídeo “Evoluiu Challenge” por acadêmicos(as) e médicos(as) graduados(as) do curso de Medicina de uma universidade pública brasileira. Diante do isolamento social e da necessidade de representatividade, encorajamento e empoderamento LGBT+ dentro do espaço acadêmico da Medicina, identificou-se a necessidade de ações, como a produção do vídeo, para que os(as) acadêmicos(as) mais vulnerabilizados(as) possam localizar em seus/suas colegas de curso uma rede de apoio, solidariedade e empoderamento. O projeto foi desenvolvido com 20 estudantes e três egressos(as) da mesma instituição. Ao todo, foram mais de 85 mil visualizações. Discussão: Diante da experiência relatada, destaca-se a importância dos avanços tecnológicos como promotores da “aproximação” em tempos de isolamento e distanciamento social. Nesse sentido, o vídeo resultou em significativa visibilidade à população LGBT+ presente no meio médico. Ademais, propiciou representatividade e a construção de uma rede de apoio estudantil, como descrito nas DCN, com a promoção do cuidado. Conclusão: A partir deste relato de experiência, fica visível a necessidade de implementação de estratégias de ações de apoio para a população LGBT+ nas universidades, como as redes de cuidado/solidariedade. Dessa maneira, assim como o vídeo, essas estratégias potencializarão a construção de um espaço de ensino-aprendizagem mais inclusivo e que seja um oásis do pensamento contra a opressão e espaço de contestação.
Este artigo objetiva relatar uma ação extensionista realizada no campo da saúde mental com alunos de quarto e quinto ano de uma escola estadual de Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. Busca-se evidenciar os aspectos formativos dessa ação para acadêmicos de Medicina, bem como incentivar e auxiliar outros pesquisadores a trabalharem com demandas semelhantes nas escolas. Em 2019, um grupo de estudantes de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia visitou uma instituição de educação básica visando a promoção de saúde. Utilizou-se o Arco de Maguerez para sistematizar a ação, concluindo-se pela necessidade de instigar, nos alunos, autoestima e autocuidado. Realizaram-se, então, duas dinâmicas baseadas nos conceitos de Apresentação à Mineira e Teatro do Oprimido, de Augusto Boal, além de rodas de conversa sobre redes de apoio. As crianças participaram ativamente e demonstraram capacidade de compreensão e reflexão. Essa ação mostrou-se relevante para a formação dos graduandos, que perceberam a importância de uma abordagem adequada para os infantes na promoção de sua saúde.
Este relato objetiva descrever um caso de COVID-19 em paciente do sexo feminino, 48 anos, portadora do diagnóstico de Esclerose Sistêmica forma difusa (ESd) há 14 meses, associada à fibrose pulmonar, em uso de micofenolato de mofetil (MMF). A paciente foi internada no hospital com história de tosse e febre há uma semana. Após 4 dias, testou positivo para COVID-19 e recebeu alta após 11 dias de internação. Prevê-se que os imunossupressores predispõem a um maior risco de infecções e consequente maior agressão ao organismo. Este trabalho objetivou avaliar essa relação, tendo em vista que a paciente sobreviveu à infecção por COVID-19 e não apresentou uma forma grave da doença. Embora este relato descreva evolução favorável de um paciente, ressalta-se a relevância da realização de futuros estudos para avaliar efeitos da imunossupressão na COVID-19.
