In recent years, the question of using new information technologies in the education system has been increasingly raised. These are not only new technical means but also new forms and methods of teaching, a new approach to the learning process. The purpose of this study consisted in developing a program for teaching future foreign language teachers using digital technologies. In this study, a descriptive and analytical methods were used. Analysis of specialised literature on research topics as well as of training programs for future teachers of a foreign language was conducted. A system of classes for future teachers of a foreign language for a semester in the subject “English” and a number of recommendations for creating a course and conducting classes using digital technologies has been developed. A pilot study that showed the effectiveness of these techniques was conducted. It was found that thanks to the authors’ approach the students can complete the tasks assigned to them more quickly and learn how to correctly apply new tools in their work.
In the modern world, which is characterised by migration processes, ethnic and cultural mixing, the interest of representatives of various fields of knowledge to the category of ethnicity, ethnic processes, their historical, cultural, philosophical and linguistic component is growing. In this regard, the work is devoted to studying the dynamics of representations of ethnicity in different types of discursive practices and identifying the specifics of conceptualisation of ethnicity in English-speaking society in the context of ideological, socio-economic and socio-cultural transformations of the second half of the 20th – early 21st century. The relevance of the study is due to the inclusion of the dynamics of language development and change in such areas of modern linguistics as ethnolinguistics, linguocultural studies and discourse analysis, as well as growing interest in the evolution of language, lexical structure of English and changes in the English world picture with the development of ethnic culture, the synthesis of language modifications in the context of global socio-cultural transformations. The following methods were used in the work: definition analysis; comparative analysis; quantitative analysis; analysis-discourse; hypothetical-deductive method; generalisation; systematisation. The research methods used in the article made it possible to substantiate the principles of material selection for studying the dynamics of ethnic representations in English dictionaries; to reveal the concepts of ethnic stereotype and ethnonym-nickname as ways of stereotyping; to characterise the concept of political correctness as relevant for the study of linguistic construction of ethnicity. The dynamics of the representation of ethnicity in the lexicographic discourse on the material of British dictionaries of two times cross-sections (mid-20th century and modern latest edition) in the context of socio-cultural transformations were analysed. The practical value of the work is that the obtained results contribute to a fuller understanding of the English-language picture of the world, deepen scientific ideas about the interaction of ideology, language, culture.
The article addresses potential issues surrounding the development of the integrative readiness of pre-service teachers to work in inclusive classrooms in Ukraine. Integrative readiness is an open, dynamic, synergistic system functioning of cognitive, motivational, affective, and selective processes which is developed through the purposeful training of future teachers for work in inclusive, which is included in the educational social environment as a tool for acquiring productive knowledge, forming integrative skills. The structure of integrative readiness includes personality orientation; ability to perform their duties, professional competences; productive knowledge that the student receives from environmental information based on personal prior knowledge, skills, personal and professional qualities, and integrative skills that demonstrate the ability of an individual to make independent decisions and appropriate actions in unpredictable new situations. The levels of integrative readiness were investigated, covering the following interrelated stages: theoretical analysis, synthesis, comparison; modelling and technological design; generalization; observational; pedagogical experiment. A study was conducted. The research involved 285 pre-service teachers from the Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, enrolled in the Speciality 016: Special Education unit. A structural model of the formation of integrative readiness of future teachers for professional activity was developedwhich consisting of the following blocks: target, content and procedural, and resultant. The research finding reported that the effectiveness of corrective, developmental, and educational work in the educational inclusive space largely depended upon the quality of training of the pre-service teacher, and the use of active and interactive training.
The article is dedicated to the determination of what are the general (European) and local (Ukrainian) trends in teachers’ education. The formulation of the goal is determined by the need to find out how the challenges faced by Ukrainian universities in the conditions of the war and post-pandemic affect the development trends of European pedagogical education as a whole. The object of study was trends of pedagogical education in Ukraine and Europe. The authors analyzed processes of adaptation of university pedagogical education to functioning Ukraine – in conditions of war and post-pandemic, and in Europe – in conditions of massive integration of the Ukrainian university community, both students and teachers, in European institutions of higher pedagogical education. The comparative analysis demonstrated, that educational programs, lists of educational literature, including those with the possibility of using electronic textbooks, manuals, and educational applications, need to be further updated in Ukrainian Universities. The investigation proved out, that continuality needs the implementation and support for the development of an effective system of digital transformation in Ukrainian universities in the following directions: the digital educational environment is accessible and modern; development of digital competencies of participants in the educational process; the content of ICT education meets modern requirements ect.
The article deals with the expediency of the application of acmeological technologies in the process of future foreign language teacher training in the institutions of higher education. The topicality of our research is predetermined by dynamic paradigmatic transformations in the process of step-by-step development of Ukrainian foreign language education during the implementation of the New Ukrainian School reform. We analyzed the essence of acmeological approach, the application of which is aimed at creating full-fledged conditions for effective professional development and self-development of the personality of a future professional. The acmeological technologies, which were implemented during an experimental study, have been characterized. The expediency of their application was studied by means of experiment‚ the participants of which were 2 lecturers and 29 second-year students of the first (Bachelorʼs) level of higher education of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University. It has been proven that the applied acmeological technologies contribute to increasing the effectiveness of foreign language acquisition at a given stage of education. We also analyzed the academic performance of students before and after the experiment within each group. There was an increase in the percentage of students mastering the language at a sufficient level. After the experiment the sufficient level in group No. 1 was 54% (before the experiment – 39%)‚ group No. 2 – 40% (before the experiment – 34%). The prospects for further scientific research in the chosen field may be observed in the study of the application of acmeological technologies in foreign language teaching methodology classes, which will enable the logical continuation of our research. A detailed study of linguistic features of political texts allows one to track the trends in linguistic changes and identify the linguistic means of modelling a communicative portrait of politicians in the light of dynamic challenges of the period in question. At the same time, it is essential to characterize their political discourse to investigate their political reality. Political speech acts as a form of public speaking, a communication process and a type of social action. One of the key figures is Barack Hussein Obama, an American politician and the 44th President of the United States. This linguistic research aims to describe the functioning of stylistic devices in his political speeches delivered in the period from June 1 to July 13, 2015, and, in particular, reveal the stylistic effect they create. The procedures and methods implemented during the research compile with the aim, objectives and the material analyzed. They include both general scientific methods and those related to linguistic research. The research shows that the great variety of stylistic devices used in the political texts in question mostly includes epithets (to create a portrait of a certain person); antitheses (to demonstrate contradictions); hyperboles (to express sincere feelings); metaphors (to create symbolic images, address the audience, cultivate an atmosphere of a communicative situation); anaphors (to enhance the characteristics of the image, emphasize and encourage the audience to analyze what is heard); simile (to emphasize a certain quality); repetition (to enable full-fledged image-creation and express the authority category). Thus, the stylistic devices identified during the linguistic analysis make it possible to convey the key ideas of the speech and serve as powerful means of implementing the tasks set by the politician. It is concluded that the genre of political speech serves as a powerful lever of linguistic influence on representatives of different social strata, because ideas masked in it by stylistic devices allow politicians to form a favorable image and manipulate public consciousness in a particular linguistic space.
