Históricamente, el discurso musical ha funcionado como uno de los ejes sobre los cuales se genera la propaganda. En la presente investigación nos centramos en el análisis de la música del Noticiario Documental como documento utilizado por el Franquismo para contribuir al adoctrinamiento de la sociedad española. Esta dimensión sonora se encuentra habitualmente relegada a un segundo plano frente al resto de elementos que componen este medio audiovisual. Por ello, en este artículo proponemos un acercamiento a la sintonía, a la música preexistente y a la música original empleadas en esta plataforma. El impacto de este material musical en la sociedad española fue tal que todavía forma parte de su imaginario colectivo. En definitiva, a través de estas tres dimensiones examinaremos el papel que jugó la música en el NO-DO, contribuyendo así a profundizar en los mecanismos empleados por el Régimen para influir en el espectador a partir del ámbito audiovisual.
Bella Ciao es una canción tradicional italiana que se convirtió en símbolo de la resistencia antifascista durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. A pesar de haber sido versionada en múltiples ocasiones, su inclusión en la banda sonora de la exitosa serie La Casa de Papel la ha proyectado aún más a nivel internacional. La música preexistente al pasar por el proceso comunicativo de un medio audiovisual adquiere y ve modificados sus significados previos. En la investigación se aplica el modelo de los códigos de significación de Stuart Hall para desentrañar la hipótesis propuesta. El objetivo es abordar el especial interés de este estudio de caso por conllevar una adscripción ideológica en su nacimiento que se ha visto modificada tras su integración en una serie de televisión.
Rick y Morty es una serie de animación para adultos emitida por primera vez en Adult Swim en 2013. La trama se centra en las aventuras de un científico, Rick Sanchez, quien viaja por el tiempo y el espacio acompañado de su nieto Morty. Su originalidad radica en los continuos juegos narrativos basados en teorías filosóficas y científicas a las que los protagonistas aluden constantemente, mezclándolas con elementos de la cultura pop. En este artículo partimos de la siguiente pregunta: ¿Cómo afectan las novedades impuestas en el desarrollo de la historia al discurso musical? Tras una contextualización histórica de la serie de animación, realizamos un análisis de la música preexistente del que se extraen dos conclusiones principales: su inclusión en la trama es fundamental para la evolución narrativa, y la canción preexistente se utiliza como leitmotiv. En este sentido, Rick y Morty aporta nuevas visiones para la creación de series de animación, estableciéndose como un referente dentro de la actual edad de oro de la ficción seriada.
Baiuca es el resultado de la irrupción en el panorama musical gallego de iniciativas fundamentadas en la actualización de la música tradicional gallega a partir de la aplicación de nuevos lenguajes musicales y de procesos de resignificación simbólica. Proyecto en solitario de Alejandro Guillán junto a artistas y colectivos como Adrián Canoura, Xosé Lois Romero e Aliboria, Baiuca plantea una renovación dentro de este ámbito artístico-musical, promoviendo la recuperación de ritmos, melodías y tímbricas propias del país. Su finalidad última consiste en acercar esta dimensión musical a un nuevo público, ubicado en nuevos espacios y contextos, a partir de la utilización de medios alternativos y no convencionales. Tanto en el plano sonoro como en el visual, resulta evidente la apropiación y la utilización deliberada de simbología de filiación nacional, la cual llega a convertirse en seña de identidad de esta iniciativa. Por ello, el objetivo principal de este artículo consiste en reflexionar sobre la carga ideológica y cultural que rodea a este proyecto. A partir del estudio de caso de temas como “Muíño”, incluido en el álbum Solpor (2018), profundizaremos en la base teórico-musical y en el planteamiento cultural desde el que parte Guillán. En definitiva, pretendemos adentrarnos en el análisis de una propuesta musical “revolucionaria” que, inevitablemente, se encuentra construida sobre los mismos estereotipos culturales y nacionales con los que pretende romper.
