Automated determination of animal behavior through machine learning algorithms has become increasingly common in the study of animal behavior. This research aims to evaluate the performance of Random Forest, Bagging, and J48 classifiers in determining the behavior of dairy cattle on pasture using data obtained by GPS positioning sensors and environmental sensors. The data used were collected from three Girolando heifers with an average weight of 300 kg. The segmentation of variables was applied to GPS data collected from the 3 animals and provided the latitude and longitude per minute of each one of them. A mini meteorological station was installed in the study area to record environmental variables. To evaluate the classifiers, the Weka Toolkit 3.8.5 was used. Three classes of behavior were considered: eating, ruminating, and idleness. For the analyses, the trial and error method was used where the environmental variables of dry-bulb temperature in pasture and shade, relative humidity in pasture and shade, black globe temperature in shade, dew point temperature in shade, class, position, and location were being removed individually until a better accuracy in the classification of behaviors was observed. For evaluation, the cross-validation method with 10 folds was used.
