Den akademiska kulturen har länge kännetecknats av en vertikal könssegregering – ju högre upp i hierarkin desto fler män. Statsmakterna har sedan decennier försökt komma till rätta med akademins brist på jämställdhet inom ramen för den nationella jämställdhetspolitiken. I denna artikel diskuteras de senaste decenniernas politiska satsningar för att uppnå jämställdhet i det seniora ledarskapet i akademin. Vilka strategier och åtgärder har implementerats och vilka effekter har de haft? Jag tar min utgångspunkt i svensk och internationell forskning om jämställdhetsinsatser för att locka fler kvinnor in i akademiskt ledarskap, samt i egna erfarenheter från ett genusintegrerat ledarutvecklingsprogram för blivande dekaner vid Lunds universitet. Avslutningsvis argumenterar jag för en feministisk intervention – ett genusmedvetet ”nomadiskt” ledarskap – som en möjlig väg till förändring. Förhåller det sig så att feministiska interventioner, inte jämställdhetssatsningar, måste till för att förändring ska åstadkommas?
