Die gemeinsame Einwirkung von S und NH3 auf Methylathylketon liefert n i t guten Ausbeuten das bisher unbekannte 2.4.5-Trimethyl-2-athyl-thiazolin-A3 (I). Die Verbindung laBt sich im sauren Medium leicht in Methylathylketon, Amnioniak und 2-Mercaptobutanon-(3) aufspalten.Als Folgereaktion bildet sich, in Abhangigkeit von der Saurekonzentration, durch Wasserabspaltung aus dem 2-Mercaptobutanon-(3) das 2.3.5.6-Tetramethyl-2.S-endoxy-l.4-dithian. Die Vorstellungen uber den Reaktionsmechanismus sind dieselben wie sie bei der Umsetzung des Diathylketons3) geauaert wurden. -Entgegen der Erwartung kommt es beim.Methylathylketon zur Bildung nur eines Thiazolins, obwohl mit zwei Struktur-lsomeren zu rechnen war. Das nicht auffindbare Isomere konnte auf anderem Wege synthetisiert werden. Beim Einleiten von gasformigem Ammoniak in eine Aufschlammung von feingepulvertem, elementarem Schwefel in Methylathylketon kommt es bereits bei Raumtemperatur nach Ablauf einer gewissen Inkubationszeit unter Warmeentwicklung und Dunkelfiirbung zu einer mit Wasserabscheidung verbundenen Reaktion, in deren Verlauf der Schwefel verhaltnismaBig rasch verbraucht wird. Man erhalt zwei Schichten, eine untere waDrig-ammoniakalische Schicht, in der etwas Ammoniumpolysulfid gelost ist, und eine obere Schicht, bestehend aus nicht umgesetztem Methylathylketon und einer Stickstoff und Schwefel enthaltenden Verbindung, die bei 74-75"/13 Torr als farblose Fliissigkeit destilliert und ein bei 130 bis 130.5" schmelzendes Pikrat liefert. Auf 2 Mole verbrauchtes Methylathylketon werden 2 Mole Wasser gebildet und 1 Mol Ammoniak und 1 Grammatom Schwefel aufgenommen : 2 C4HsO + S + NH3 -+ CsHl5NS + 2 H 2 0 1) IV.
